  1. Your right. But I hjave owend 3 cars with 2.8Ls and had no problems. Guess it just depends. I have never heard of head gasket problems on a 3.4L----intake manifold gaskets yes. Wifes GAGT had that done.
  2. yeah you better run mister!! :P #1 the 307 came out in the late 60's. #2 The 305 wasn't a bad engine at all. The L69 4bbl HO beat that Mustanf 302 in 83-84 and a 305 TPI 5 speed did well too. It was meant for fuel economy and not performance---hence some shortcomings on that front. #3 The 60 degree engines aren't ...um...bad at all...either # the rest you named sure did suck though!
  3. Stupid name....great looking car! They had one in the Saab/Saturn dealer. I loved it and it fir like a glove. If I had the bucks, it would be in my garage.

I test drove a FWD V6 Vue the other day. Its FAST!! Very aggresive throlttle tip-in. I thought the ride was way too firm though. But my tester had the 16's---maybe the 17's would ride better. The new front end is growing on me but the old one was better. I priced out an Equinox/Torrent and the price is very, very close. But you get that crappy 185 3400 V6--which is way underpowerreed when compared to the 250hp V6 Vue. GM should have put a better engine in the them.
  5. Ouch thats bad. Heres another Not a Vette but still...

    disgusting. Like the engine though

Wow! Cadillacs are on the top of my want list for a luxury car. BMW, Mercedes...NOT!
  8. exactly---they were selling PT's over MSRP and there was a wait list. . And the cranked up production and all that went away. They should just leave HHR production alone--and work on a s/c ot turbo engine for it.
  9. 89 TTA--162mph in my Car and Driver test.
  10. You both make valid points. But Honda, in a way, almost admitted a degree of failure, when the 2.0 was increased to 2.2L. Torque went up, redline went down and it became a better car because of that. New cars try to get good low end torque with a combination of higher rpm power too. The best of both worlds
  11. Can you write more then 8 words? I have expalined my stance already. The 4 door is not bad looking, I saw one yesterday. But its the interior----from the gross steering wheel to stacked guages. Imagine if Chevy did that----the media would be all over them. But its Honda---they can do no wrong. My Cobalt has a great interior. Nice textures and great fit. Its normal too! NOt freakishy werid
  12. oh I know what it is. But thats grossly excessive. 16's are just too small for the application.
  13. not but I simply cannot get past the interior. On the other hand---I don't like the rear of the coupe at all----the 4 door looks better to me.
  14. Saw one at a Pontiac dealer today. IT has the 16's and about 1 foot of tires to fender gapat the reat and 6' at the front. Grossed me right out. Looks like a rebadged Equinox.
  15. Great colour! I would have got my Cobalt SS in that colour...if they offered it. Looks like you keep it in nice shape. The Quad 4 was nuetured in 95---with balance shafts and the 6200rpm redline. But hey for $1k..... :P
  16. Looks sharp! I like your gen Grand Prixs better then the new ones. Well except for the V8 :P
  17. Yat Ming isn't bad. Unfortunately because its only a concept car, I seriously doubt any other maker will produce this car. I hate the colurs---silver (yawn) and some ugly kind of aqua green. But I will probably get one.
  18. Yeah I have all 3 mags. Either R/T cannot drive or they did not correct for altitude/weather or they had a real sick Z06. Imean 116mph to 125???? Either way----when you have 2 magazines and Chevrolet saying 11 sec 1/4 mile car----they are right and R/T is wrong. The Z06 has a beter power to weight ratio then the Ford GT or that slow Viper. Speaking of the Viper----I have only seen one test that it did 11.8----all the others are a low 12.
  19. Pretty nice. And very capable off road. Smart for Hummer to make cheaper more fuel efficent vehciles. They should make that pickup concept from a few years ago. Now if they could add some horsepoer to the equation....
  20. Oh I posted before on this thread already. I will expalin it for you. Its my opinion and is true for me and some others on here. You have your "opinions" and I have mine. No one is right. As for the Civic being gross---the steering wheels and stacked guages do the trick to get that accomplished. I get tired of so called experts bashing-----its not fact, sorry.
  21. New Civis is gross. Cobalt rules
  22. you have bad info. The S/C SS weighs 2800-2900lbs. Mine weighs 2840 with 1/4 tank
  23. wow--you guys are werid! :P Well I have a few: Took along time to figure out the Dukes Of Hazard car was a Charger The 86 Fiero GT fastback.....didn't know what it was or who made it. Didn't know how what Big block was. Learned its just a bigger block! Well a different family of Chevy V8s. Oh and I had a misconception too: When you had a cool car you got hot chicks! WRONG! Or if you do they are gold diggers
  24. I was just buggin' ya! Everyone has different opinions. While not the most futuristic interior.......I like it better then the last gen Impala or the Ford 500
  25. they didn't. Its a great car.
