I give it an A- Front is my only concern and its not like its hideous or anything. Accord and Camry are not styling standouts by any stretch so the Malibu doesn't have to be either. I will be curious to see the dimensions on this as it will replace the spot the Impala currently occupies when it goes RWD. I'll be really shocked to see the 3.6L HF V6 avaible on all models. I also want an SS version--with some body enhancements, 18's and a hp bump

Incredible looking corss over for GM. If this doesn't sell very well I'll be shocked. Now it just needs a V8........or F/I DI V6

So far I don't like it. THe face is agrrssive but its alo odd looking. The grill is too big. Maybe the sides and the rear will look good?

If ANYTING the SS name plate was resurging. The 60's SS cars you mentioned weree fast if equiped with the right engines. The Camaro SS 350s are slower then my Cobalt 2.4 SS. Lets keep some prespective here...way more lower powered SS cars were sold in the 60's then the fast ones. As for G-body Monte Carlo SS and 454 SS P/U---they were about the low point. Not bad for the day but hardly fast.

not sure if I like this........it will make SS cars more expensive I fear BUT if a sport or RS is a midarnge model that would be okay.

Probably a matter of personal preference. Although the Aura weighs a few hundred lbs more the the Malibu--offsetting some of the hp. Plus I am at nearly 5000 density altitude feet which does not help matters. But the Aura XR I drove spun hard off the line--fighting for traction but the 6 speed auto playa a big role in that. I was very surpised at the wheels--how they are styled in the design of the hupcaps. Never seen that before--that is different

Very nice looking in the dark blue! So the upgraded wheels----still have the wheelcovers on them? I drove an XE---it was really nice but a dog off the line---decent mid-top end though---it even sounded good.

I'm with you---hoping these numbers are a mistake. Just going by memeory, the dimensions seem very close the current Vue--so where'd the huge weight gain come from??? Looking at the Vues competiton--it is way heavier! Hard to beleive GM would put a 4cly behind a 3800lb SUV

you hit the nail on the head. With E especailly. Very, very few people want them. Its from a by-gone era so the few who complain just better realsize this and get used to it.

where are you getting your weight from?? an 06 awd V6 weighs about 3600lbs and change. Your saying an 08 is better then 4100lbs? I don't see it. Don't be too impressed with the Honda 3.5/5 speed auto--it dosen't reallly put out dimensions/weights posted please.....anyone?

In all liley hood the les hp for the engines is due to exhaust restrictions. I am not infavour of it but its not anythign to get upset about. Still kills an Escape!

little disapointed by the hp of the engines---that they are down from their car applications. Oh well should beat my Honda powered Vue--which the engine and trans are so babied by the computer! Hopefully this is as light weight at the current Vue

For a sports car yes.....mid sized family sedans, not sure about that. Lat time GM did that was with the W-bodies in the early 90s. They sold very few. And lack of demand is what killed it. Domestics are the same--all auto V6's. Asians however have some with manuals and some that are auto only . Perhaps its in the execution. If GM could produce a good manual transmssion---nice clutch take up, shifter ect. Make it smooth and easy to drive. Review of those W-bodires I mentioned (3.4L DOHC 5 speeds) were not kind on the manual trans operation. But then if no one buys it--they can't justify making it. Those G6 6 speeds haven't exactly got glowing reviews. So yeah I think they should try but get the execution perfect--however if it does not sell, I cannot blame them.

I know its a matter of taste but I find the SS 4 dr to be suffiecently distinct from the base 2.2L cars. And when you look at sport sub compacts in its class the 4 dr SS ranks near the top. At lwast for me :AH-HA_wink: (far better the Focus..yawn, Corolla ect)

Why, you say? So people have a choice! That if they want an automatic they can still have a decently fast car. What is wrong with that? We live in a democracy. Power to the people!! There are days that I tire of drving the 5 speed in my Cobalt. Rush hour namely. Also over time it seems to be more sensitive to throttle inputs.

yeah but even the 242hp I5 should do well against the Jeeps 3.8---pretty slow. This is a good idea by GM. Small market bbut could own it I think.

now all they ahve to do is double the trunk size! lol It would suck owning that car and not being able to take it on a trip

Anyone think this cuold be in the works? Anyone think it shold be?? If the HHR gets the Turob 2.2 then I think the 4 dr Coblat should. Maybe an auto option too.
