  1. Hey BV, I was going to use this for a sig originally. http://www.cheersandgears.com/public/style_emoticons//AH-HA_wink.gif
  2. Ironically it had a Buick powerplant and is not recognized by hardcore enthusiasts as a "true" Poncho.
  3. Sixty8panther replied to carman21's topic in Toyota
Record Sales =/= Class Leader Jus6t cause they sell a half a billion Camrys to clueless sheeple every year does NOT make the Camry better than an Impala or Regal.
  4. BV: How's this. Chevy does not have ONE car right now that I would really watn and can afford. I do not have $48,000 for a Corvette and the Cobalt coupe, as nice as it is will not meet my needs for a new car. The cobalt sedan is just *blah* and the rest of the lineup is boring and uninspired. And BTW: Pontiac has the Solstice & GTO, I think there's a much better chance of Chevy getting a RWD Chevelle AND Camaro or Camaro & (RWD) M/C then there is of Pontiac getting A Solstice, Fireo & GTO.
  5. F*%K. WTF ever happened to quadrasteer?

Look closely where the grille is on this car! Now go back to the drawing board and get to work on something that actually has tail fins, otherwise don't bother. <_<

This is the kind of retro I DON'T like. :( WTF... take a gorgeous 1957 Chevy and water it down to the point where it looks more like a Sebring then a Chevy, then raise the grille 24" and voila! If the designer of the Toyota Camry was asked to do a modern version of the Tri-5 cars I think it might actually bne better.
  8. Is this guy on crack?!?! Look at the BUY NOW price. Does he think people are stupid & rich? What a Douchebag. Honda Accord http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda-Accor...580695851QQrdZ1
  9. Fly: Obviously i'm referring to PILLARLESS hardtops... like the Invicta in my Signature... <_< WMJ: Transverse mounted I6? The Suzuki already has it but that's NOT what I was referring to. I mean a true full sizer with a I6 for a base and a 5.3 for a base V8 and 6.0 for the SS. MAke if BOF and call it a Caprice and you're in business.
  10. I LOVE my '84 Datsun and it was a very forward thinking car for its era. Independant rear suspension with LSD optional, 4-wheel disk brakes and electronic fuel injection on a model that came out in the late 70s. However the car is proof that a typical Japanese car does not have a huge edge over an American one from the same era. I mean that's p[lenty of nice American cars that cost $12,200 like my Datsun Maxima and are still on the road, but sad to say the last of the RWD Datsuns are a scarce comodity. I still see '84 Firebirds, '84 Caprice Classics and Oldsmobile Cutlasses on the road... Japanese cars ahev only ogne DOWNHILL as of late, Safety and technology may have progressed but the Japanese are resting on their laurels WAY too much. <_< And I firmly believe that the Japanese cars will CONTINUE to rust like the little tin can shitboxes they are. I remember in the mid 90s when I said to my dad as a little kid that the newer Hondas & Toyotas look more substantial and solid but my dad, always the cynic said he wouldn't hold his breath... well sure enough I see plenty of rotted out '95 4Runners and '96 Accords. Certainly a much higher percentage than the typical American car.
  11. I posted this earlier this year: BTW: - '68 Camaro Alternator is chained to the inner fender as the bracket is all effed up. At 6000+ rpm it would throw the belt and this has been the only workable solution. Since the car redlines at 7000 and routinely gets to see that kind of RPM I had to find some kind of solution. - '79 Caddy: "Custom" generic antena off of a Mitsubishi Sigma.... rear view mirror super glued on & driver's seat will get the duct tape treatment if I find white tape since the white leather is torn up. I will not hae the money to reupholster it for a while. - '86 Caddy: duct tape on some weather stripping that needs replacement. - '84 Datsun: a part of the driver's seat is sewn-up all half assed by yours truly where it was ripped. Upper part of the grille is twisty-tied on since the clips are broken off and it usedto rattle.
  12. WTF, how depressing. :(
  13. If you squint real hard at the bottom ocrner of picture #7 you can see BV towing his Grand Am wiht his ATV. :P
  14. Wow, that color IS killer.
  15. NO Camaro NO Chevelle NO Caprcie Classsic NO RWD cars except for the expensive Vette NO hardtop coupes NO hardtop sedans NO hardtop wagons NO Body-on-Frame cars NO manual trans. offered in most products NO I6 engines offered in any cars NO exciting styling on most cars (Cobalt sedan, Malibu, Impala, M/C...) That's just a short list of stuff off the top of my head.
  16. I've had those for years now and have never had a problem wiht my xcar getting stolen. That's just a wife's tale... A proffessional car thief, if he wanted a Grand Am would crack open the door and ignition quicker and wiht less effort than crawling around under the car looking for a hidden key. As soon as I purchase a car (sometimes the same day) I get a spare set made at the local Mom&Pop hardware store and hide them somewhere inconsipcuous. I have a couple of those magnetic boxes but in some cases Duct tape works better. '79 coupe DeVille: duct taped inside the bumper '86 Caddy: magnetic hide-a-key in undisclosed location... (avoid the obvious) '97 Caddy: key duct taped in a spot just big enough to get hand/forearm in there '68 Camaro: this one is really clever, magnetic box hidden in the front of the car '84 Datsun: rear bumper, key attached to it with electrical tape I highly doubt anyone would ever find my spare yeys in any of my cars. Perhaps on a lift at the dealership but then I get all my own service down so that's not a problem. ANOTHER GOOD HINT: (only works with older GM cars with two keys) Have just a door key taped somewhere on the outside of the car incase you lock your self out, and then hide an ignition key INSIDE the car somewhere in case you loose your keys altogeather so you're noit stranded. Think of a really wacky place like taped to the back of the gas pedal or the inside of the fuse box panel or the botton of the passanger seat to the frame rail/power seat motor.
  17. Was that really necessary. It was a neat post, no need to throw in a nasty quip.
  18. Nick: love the sig. Ocn:  as usual Satty: Forget the screwriver, a steak knife works much better. Down inot the eyeball and twist.
  19. I voted #5. Right color, clean and elegant. Plus I'm a sucker for deep dish rims.
  20. BD: Sorry bud but I think you're exagerating for effect. Quite a bit actually. You have a point but don't judge all GM products by a 2003 J-car and as far as interiors in $45K GM cars they're NOT worse than Japanese cars costing $22,500. C'mon that's just insulting. My 1997 Caddy STS cost aboout that when new and the interior is on par with anything costing that much from any country. And my buddy's $33,000 1995 Riviera has an interior that is far nicer in every way than a typical $33,000 Jaopanese car. <_< That being said I think we can all agree GM has been firing on 5 of it's 8 cylinders as of late.
  21. Someone has been spoon feeding you crap. Subaru, Suzuki, Isuzu & Daewoo are now a part of the GM conglomerate but you still see plenty of Rice based on those vehicles. Rest assured many Mazdas are stil made in Japan and imported here, and a good chunk of the profit stays in the Land of the Rising Sun. To say Mazda is okay but Nissan and the rest are not is just way off base.
  22. I'd like to se the driveshaft!
  23. Even though Rice Sucks, beating & harassing people will never change anything. Not all imports suck however, even I'll admit there's some I'd consider buying if I was not convinced GM offers a better bang-fer-da-buck. As in I'd take a Cadillac CTS over a Bimmer 3-series or Lexus IS300 but the later two are great cars. I'd also never buy a Miata now that we have the Solstice and Sky because they're much better values and look nicer but the Miata is still a pretty good car.
