WTF is this?
No the last Fly, this ugly monstrosity is from 1980. Not sure weather it was ever shown to the public in those days.

New Corsa
To this day when i hear that name I think of this: And then I remember that just like Monza and other names it was borrowed later on by the UK/German division of GM.

What If...?
Thanks for the comic relief Satty. :) I'm done with this argument. If porn is a girl in a traditional Bikini wiht a gasoline canister than we've got different views on the definition of the word. Or is THIS what you guys are talking about? Is this porn according to the moderators? This is a short list of pictures that I've posted in the last few months that contained sexy shots of women.

Larger Engines in the Corvette?
Don't forget HEAVIER. FOUR cams instead of one and double the valves and all related components. Pushrods kick ass. Simplicity, cost reduction, lower maintenance and weight savings are wonderful benefits. :)

Yenko (Please Explain)
Only 69 ZL1 Camaros were made in 1969 and TWO Corvettes. All were ordered through the COPO process and a good chunk survive. The ZL1 option meant the price of the car DOUBLED. Only really serious racers and fanatics were savy enough to order one. A 1969 COPO ZL1 Camaro makes a 1970 Hemi Cuda look like a over rated, over-weight and antiquidated hulk of metal. But that's only my opinion based on fact. :P Will post more later.

First gen F-bod vs. 2nd-4th
Chevy was scrambling to respond to the Mustang. By the time the 1967 Cars were rolling inot showrooms the concept sketches were being finalised for the 1969 Camaro. Not the 1969 Camaro we all know and most of us love over ALL others. The car you now know as the 1970.5 Camaro. Even longer nose, fast back rear quarters and no rear quarter window. Overall shape inspired by 60s FE Ferraris. Thank god the delay in the desing on the 2ng Gen. F-body forced Chevrolet and Pontiac to reskin the first gen car for 1969 and then extend the production due to even more delays. The 1969 Camaro is the longest running single MY production design ever from Chevy. And rightfully so. If I had my way it would have been around for at least 3 modl years.

WTF is this?
Name the year, manufacturer and what made it so special. It was not the first or last of it's type from this manufacturer but it sure as hell was one of the most interesting.

Still a better marketing strategy to hook young buyers than the whole Scion car line! *ba-dumpa-CHING!*

Road and Track: ZO6 VS Viper
The Z06's real strength lies not only in pounds-per-horsepower, but in performance-per-dollar — though you can bet that transaction prices will be higher, the Z06's MSRP of $65,800 (including destination charges) undercuts a Viper's by at least $16,000, and is less than half the GT's price of admission. With estimated city/highway mileage numbers of 19/28, this Vette even avoids the gas-guzzler tax. It's truly the Blue Collar supercar. That's as scary as Eau Rouge...for the Z06's competition, that is. I'm seeing a lot of C6 Vettes around these parts and not many seem to be piloted by snobby Yuppies. That's the way it should be. Hopefully most of the Z06 will go to average Joes, but mostly i hope they sell like hotcakes so I can buy one used and soon. :) Viva La Vette!

Harley's Triviama X
A '79 Malibu is an excellent start for a drag car. The lightest BOF vehicle GM ever made. AND it will acomidate a big block Chevy with little modification. That's what I call a WIN/WIN scanario. :)

Why do you buy a car?
Even among geeks and nerds it's been proven the car buying decision is tied to our emotional response. I'd argue this is not true anymore for a good percentage o the population since a huge chunk of Americans go out and buy a Camry or Accord based entirely on a preceived reliability/quality index set forth by such trash as Consumer Reports. I voted Number 5. My Datsun was the first car I ever bought where I set out for good fuel economy. But just a few years ago I sold my reliable and comfortable 1993 Olds Achieva Quad4 (8 valve) for $2500 and the same day plopped down $5000 for a 174,000 mile 1968 Camaro with no radio (harness or speakers), no heater, no fan, no AC, no door locks, brakes that would not even be adequate on a ride-on lawnmower and to top it all off a vintage 70s T-top sunroof that leaked like Niagra Falls. The wiring harness was mostly junk and the radiator was totaol junk. None of that mattered. It had close to 400 horsepower in a wicked reliable engine and accelerated like a bat out of hell. Did I mention it was my daily driver for almost two months? Yes it was the only car I owned in Aug. and Sept. of 2002. Then I bought a winter beater: a 1987 Caddy Fleetwood Brougham. After the tired old Olds motor $hit the bed I went out and bought a more "practical" winter beater... a 1983 Pontiac Firebird. It had a crate 350 so I had to have it, For $500 how could I say no? The T-tops came off several times that winter cause I loved driving with them off even if I did have to blast the heat and bundle up in a thick jacket. And the kicker? A few months after I sold the Firebird, knowing my G/F was pregnant with our daughter I bought a 1991 Blazer... even though it was a 4x4 and had the 4.3 in it the truck was a 5-speed and two door. Never would have bought it if it had been an automatic. More recently I wanted to buy a 1966 Corvair so that I could have a 4-door classic. That way I would be justified in taking the girlfriend and out baby along to the local carshows since the Camaro is too "Mad Max drag racer" for a girl let alone a baby. There's a small chance I'll still buy that Corvair. So yes, I voted #5. I buy based on what I find mechanically fascinating, performance orianted, pleasing ot the eye, or in the case of the Camaro all three.

Are the Backstreet Boys calling GM white trash?
Hmmmm.... <_< Backseat Boys is more like it.

Yenko (Please Explain)
If I ever said anything about a Japanese Yenko I must have been joking around. By 1969 the Yeko package on Camaros was pretty popular and whoile people thought he was still ripping out 396es and installing 427s he was ading his own custom touches like stickers, emblems and TT rims onto factory made 427 COPOs. I'll tel you some new tidbits and rumors I head recently from a few experts... right now I have to go get some busines done in Boston. :)

Larger Engines in the Corvette?
What's there to not understand? MT and R&T, among other rags said in the early 90s how the Mazda MX3 GS was going to be a trend setter. I drove one for a long time and to this day it's one of the few FWD cars I'd possibly buy again. Great concept: a destroked 2.5 liter V6 (1.8liter) in a car the size of a Honda CRX. Add to that the 5-speed and you've got a great little pocket rocket.

2008 VW Scirocco
Dave: that's an excellent point. If the Corrado had not Cost almost $30,000 it would still be around. Back in the early 90s it was WAY overpriced.

WTF does it lack a GMC blower? This thing is weak. I want an LS7 powered grille. Smoked Salmon, Steak Tips & BBQ Ribs. I'm getting a serious red meat craving just cause of this thread.

Larger Engines in the Corvette?
LS9: 554 cubic inch (9 liter) V8. 730HP, 700 trq. :D Or how about a mini V12 for Cadillac? a 4.0 liter V12 perhaps? If Mazda can have a 1.8 liter V6 and Ferrari can have a 2.0 liter V12 then why not a 4.0 liter or even 3.5 liter V12 for Caddy? Back in the days of the MX3 GS V6 I read a few articles about the future miniaturezation of engines in the upcoming late 90s... A 2.9 liter V8 pushrod Kappa Camaro that gets 40mpg and keeps up with a BMW 330? YES please. Then we could have a 3.0 liter "Northstar II" V8 for small Cadillacs. Or how about a 3.0 liter pushrod V12 Pontiac Banschee?
