NEW Brenda Priddy exclusive spy photo!
I think the commentary says it best: "Dude, that’s not Brenda Priddy. You can tell by the wheel flares it’s Chris Doane."

The most insane headline I've seen in a while...
I blame his father for his outrageous behavior. He deserved to be snorted. ...Not really. But hey, it's not like he was gonna want his ashes back anyway.

NYIAS: Mercedes CLK 63 AMG Black
Nothing new or even remotely exciting here, save for the 507hp.

March 2007 Sales: General Motors
For what it's worth, GMC advertises the crap out of the Acadia on womens' networks (Food Network, HGTV are popular with my wife). However, the Edge's ad stands out much more, particularly because when you hear "I LIKE TO LIVE ON THE EDGE-uh" ad nauseum, your memory tends to retain it.

GM @ NYIAS
Bah. So nothing really exciting happened at NYIAS this year for GM. That's okay, I'm probably gonna miss it again this year.

Hyundai Pickup Truck May Be in the Pipeline
Does Hyundai have any real trucks yet? At all? I imagine that this pick-up truck would be more like a Honda Ridgeline than like a Toyota Tacoma.

Anyone buying Test Drive Unlimited?
For the motherboard, I went with the lowest bidder for my needs.ASRock AliveNF6G-DVI -- NForce 430 chipset w/ GeForce 6100 onboard. I wasn't planning to use the onboard video, but I'm glad I at least have that option, or I'd be relegated to using my old PC for games. And you really, really have to try out RAID 0 some time. The biggest performance bottleneck in your system is pretty much the HDD. Striping two drives together cuts load times by a reasonable percentage.

2008 Jeep Liberty
Two thoughts... 1. The Liberty will no longer be purchased in droves by women, as it is no longer cute. At least, that's my theory. I suppose that's why the compass exists. 2. The proportions are identical to the Dodge Nitro, enough so that I can immediately tell that it's a platform mate. I believe this is a first for Jeep.

NYIAS: Pics from GM's small car press conference
I will concede that the Groove has the best face of the three, but that the Trax is my favorite in terms of overall stance.

BREAKING NEW.....New Contract....
I knew this was a joke as soon as I saw "Wal-Mart" and "April 1". Joking aside, though, consider the consequences of this. In this scenario, a union guy gets paid 40% less, but gets half-off on anything bought at Wal-Mart. At my local Wal-Mart, you can buy pretty much whatever you can buy at any Wal-Mart. Which is, just about everything except for groceries, unless it's a Super Wal-Mart. Union Guy probably doesn't need most of the stuff he buys at Wal-Mart. But Union Guy still has bills to pay, and 40% less money to pay them with. Unless Union Guy is spending 80% of his money (before the new contract) at Wal-Mart or on goods that could be purchased at the retail chain, he is most certainly forced to concede with the hypothetical new contract.

NYIAS: 2008 Lexus LX570
Hey... Does this mean Toyota finally updated the Land Cruiser? Where's that thread?

NYIAS: Pics from GM's small car press conference
Ah. Griffon implied that these would be smaller than a Mini. But from these pictures, the cars at least look much taller than a Mini (A segment), if not longer. Of course, looks can be deceiving... At any rate, these things are definitely larger than a Smart ForTwo.

2008 Impreza
Speaking as both a gamer and a car enthusiast, the Impresa looks like crap.

NYIAS: 2008 Lexus LX570
Well... At least they finally updated it.

NYIAS: Chevy Trax, Beat and Groove
That's funny. About three hours prior to your post, I noted in the photos thread that I disliked the Groove for its Scion resemblance. When I look at cars, I look at the design language, not the badge. And the Groove just reeks of Scion xB design language, regardless of badge. If anything, this proves that you can't rebadge a Scion as a Chevy and force me to like it.

NYIAS: 2009 Ford Flex
So... Is this some sort of Lambda competitor?

Anyone buying Test Drive Unlimited?
Sonovabitch! That's almost exactly the same as the computer I just built! (there seems to be a pattern of popularity among the specs I've ever seen listed)...Except I put in 2x160GB SATA2 drives and have them running in RAID0. ...And my vid card arrived defective so I'm using onboard video until the replacement arrives.

I'm headed to Detroit & GM...
Grats, Fly. You've earned it. Ask about more Astra variants. The convertible, for example, would be sweet.

NYIAS: Chevrolet Trax, Beat, & Groove Concepts
I dunno... They're all a little wacky. I guess I should pick the sort of wacky I like best. At this point I'd rather have a 4-door, so the Beat is automatically out. Other than that, it's pretty cool-looking overall. Stylistically speaking, I dislike the Groove's resemblance to a Scion concept. The back end is kinda like a Euro car or Suzuki Aerio. I've gotta pick the Trax. It looks like a baby SUV, even though it's really not. It's very tough-looking for its size, while all the other subcompacts are too busy trying to look cute or edgy. ...And looking at the poll, I see I'm in the minority.

GM chief: Strong euro is damaging car industry
I've heard the European makes complain that the Euro is stronger than the Dollar. Granted, it was once. And it was about a year ago.
