  1. Good news from GM's corner. 15 percent increase for the CTS? Four model-years old and going strong!
  2. Isn't that bhp? Doesn't size and other restrictions alter this number? What about torque?

The lead singer from Dillinger Escape Plan ended his Gigantour 2005 Jones Beach performance by jumping off the stage into the nearby water. Fun stuff. Extremely energetic in concert. Though, not exactly pleasant to listen to. , on the other hand...
  4. When I first got my 85 Seville, it would start up instantly on a cold start, but if I made a quick stop to buy something and came back out to start the car up again, it wouldn't start. It turned out to be a problem with a temperature sensor. My dad took it out and it would start up fine. But then it didn't pass inspection. I believe it was involved in controlling the air/fuel mixture and the resulting emissions were compromised.
  5. He at least got something out of it. I'm pretty sure he made money on the deal. Didn't he originally take stake in the company at about $20/share?
  6. Bah! I can't believe none of us caught that.
  7. A great deal of politicians are already atheists or non-practicing Christians (atheists in essence). Should it make ANY difference to them if a Muslim wishes to take his oath on the Qur'an?
  8. If nothing else, this was a fun exercise in making an emblem-like metallic logo. That thing by itself took like 90 minutes to render. The more I look at it, the more I dislike the use and placement of the Mercedes camo shot. It can very easily be removed, or with a little effort, integrated elsewhere.
  9. *Ding!* Huff... Puff... Here ya go.
  10. C.H.U.D., I'm not entirely sure I can compete with that, but I've got bills to pay. *Loads up Fireworks*
  11. Even so, it hurts me to even think of cars being designed to last only 5 years. My smart buy is only one year short of that.
  12. I should point out that the fuel range on this Explorer is greater than that of the Chevy Sequel Concept. And also, that road/leaf badge looks awfully familiar.
  13. 5 Year Lifespan!?!? I get it now... They're trying to eliminate ANY sense of automotive enthusiasm. If they DO decide to go this route: 1. I hate politics. 2. Car prices better be cut down to about one third of what they are now. 3. I'm gonna have to hang on to a 2014 Chevrolet in the event of hard times.
  14. I like the open-air-yet-structurally-rigid top.
  15. What are the proposed standards?
  16. I would give major props to GM if they actually built a VUE 2-door similar to the PreVUE concept. Something with the same proportions, front clip, and taillamp shape of the PreVUE, and the production bits of the VUE.
  17. I think for me there are three things that kill this design: 1. Bland grille / fascia. It looks like they pulled the Saturn emblem and chrome strip off an Aura and glued it onto a grille from a 97 Malibu. It's THAT bland to me. The Outlook is far more bold by contrast. I suppose their justification was that they didn't want it to look just like the Outlook. 2. Excessive cutlines. I guess the bumpers are designed so they can put in the grey inserts on base / off-road models. The mini panels under the tail lamps may as well be extensions of the fenders. Unless they're there to cut collision repair costs In that case, make them an extension of the bumper. 3. The center stack turns me off. I think it's a combination of design, materials, and photography. I'm not a fan of the top/bottom half division, or the overall shape. It's awkward to me. Other than that, I find this vehicle to be quite attractive.
  18. It looks kinda like they tried to remake the Cadillac Sixteen, but failed miserably.
  19. That was my first reaction to the car as well. I said, "that's one angry looking car to be on a kid's cereal box." Then I noticed the eyes. Anyway, Acura needs to dump this concept car into the Pacific Ocean and start from scratch.
  20. This marks the first time that a car design was based on a caricature of a car design...
  21. Agreed. I think it'd work great for a coupe.
  22. The all-time winner of automotive design rediculousness goes to Toyota for the POD concept.Edit: A link for the uninitiated: http://www.toyotaoffroad.com/Articles/Toyo.../toyota_pod.htm
  23. To be fair, the generalization that he responded to -- mine -- isn't 100% correct, either.
  24. There are actually GM brands that rank above average resale value? HUMMER also appears to be missing.
