Looks good. Except for those horrible tail lights. The spoiler is a nice addition. I wonder how well the hybrid will perform compared to the Camry. Any information links on how it works? Is it essentially the same as the Toyota (is it the same?)?

The Versa and Fit look very similar, I don't see how you can think one looks nice and the other doesn't

The only surprise I see on there is the new Civic being so low. Honda's sales could be a lot better all over if they stopped their dealers from gouging so much, and upped production on their more popular models. I think the Fit is still being imported and capped by production. So the damn Yaris is having a field day. My friend and I went to a Honda dealer last week looking for an early 2000's Civic or something under 10k. They treated us like we weren't worth the time.

What part, FWD being more idiot-proof or FWD usually being better in bad weather?

The car is very sleek, but the front head lights and grille ruin it. They look very dated.

Not so much better control, but more idiot-proof or majority-of-car-buyer proof. I laugh everytime I see a Mustang, Camaro, or other RWD V8 powered car trying to pull out into traffic too fast and the back end starting to come around. I almost saw a wreck one time because of it. And these are at low speeds as well, on 30-35mph roads. At worst, a FWD will spin the inside wheel, but you aren't going to lose control. FWD cars usually perform better in bad weather conditions also.

It gets similar mileage as its competition with 4 cylinders. If the Vue V6 and Escape V6 got the same mileage as the CR-V 4cyl, then it wouldn't make any sense. But that isn't the case.

Hell, I got rid of my brakes altogether, I get better mileage that way.

They could have done a lot better on the front bumper cover. That slit and the grille look awkward and not sporty.

The new CR-V is up at automobiles.honda.com, so you can compare the interior room if you would like. Steller mileage? What SUV gets steller mileage? Certainly not the Vue, Escape, or RAV4 either. The current CR-V is rated to and gets about the same realworld mileage as the 144hp 2.2L Saturn Vue. I compiled the data available at www.fueleconomy.gov and this is what I got. For AWD CR-V's, 45 users reported an average of 22.9mpg. For AWD Vue's, 4 users reported an average of 22.4mpg. For FWD CR-V's, 13 users reported an average of 23.5mpg. For FWD Vue's, 20 users reported an average of 24.3mpg. The V6 Vue's averaged about 2-4mpg less than the 4 cyl versions. So if the CR-V doesn't get steller mileage (which it doesn't), how do you explain the Vue which has a smaller engine?

The 350z weighs 160-225 lbs more, and seats 4 with a lot more interior. It also lacks the fiberglass body and costs a heck of a lot less.

The Legacy is a nice looking sedan.

Toyota is a company in business to make money, just like GM or Ford. If GM or Ford didn't perceive them as a threat, then they are obviously paying the price now. Every company that competes with you is a threat, regardless of how small they start out. And even if Toyota is some evil empire bent on world domination (I have probably said so myself before :AH-HA_wink:), do Toyota's current actions represent all of Japan's industry? Would GM or Ford do anything different if they were in the same position? Would any company not continue to expand on their success?

Didn't know you were so excited about the new CR-V.... Of course after all the Yaris evangelizing, I don't know what to expect.

I don't think it looks too bad. It will look better in person, just like the new Civic does. It also looks better in colors other than boring silver. I haven't heard anything about the next Fit receiving a similar front end.

The Accord is an old design, but still classy. It isn't trying to look boy-racer like this car. I don't recall seeing any Accords on the fast and furious. And last time I checked there isn't an Si version of the Accord either, yet the base V6 still matches this car with less displacement. Does the Galant offer a manual version? Car and Driver did 0-60 in 5.9s with an Accord 6sp Manual EX Sedan. Their interior measurements and volume are virtually the same, and the Accord has more cargo volume.

Rice-a-Roni Mainly the front bumper and spoiler that make it look that way. The hole in the fender doesn't help either.

It is just a concept, and an old one at that. I'm sure it will change quite a bit before it hits the market in a year or so. The main problem is that front end, which is odd. The car is well proportioned though, and looks like a regular sedan (which is the key to getting buyers to switch).
