Car and Driver and the acura with poor quality
I would consider a car not starting a bigger deal than any of the problems the RL had (even if it's just a lose connection). Regardless, no new car from any manufacturer (outside of Korea) should be having any of these problems. The "sacrifices" you might be making would be based off of what vehicle you were comparing it to. There are no sacrifices inherent to the RL.

Car and Driver and the acura with poor quality
I know I was being sarcastic :AH-HA_wink: There was a post about the problematic RL over at TOV. Apparently these were the problems: For anyone who has read the article, is this correct?

What's a Honda RL?

Edmunds Full Test: 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser
Out of 19 users who reported the mileage on their 4sp Auto 2wd and 4wd Elements at fueleconomy.gov, the average mileage (combined) was 23.25. Not much better than what Edmunds users reported, but still not bad for a 4sp Auto 2.4L 3400 lb box on wheels. But it's an..... aztek :o

Carmakers must re-report HP numbers
Now that is purely speculatory. Can you give me a link to more information on this? So you're saying they are advertising PS numbers in place of HP numbers (approximate .986:1 difference)?

Mitsubishi Cuts Production of Slow-Selling Raider
Never seen one. Googled some pictures. Wow, no wonder it isn't selling, looks like a Lancer crossed with an HHR and it's horribly mis-proportioned. Now that's an ugly truck.

Honda to join NASCAR!
It does bug me how that seems to be all they play on Speed channel Occasionally (and I mean occasionally) I'll turn it on to find horsepower tv or if I'm really lucky, a different racing series, but usually to my dismay I either see Nascar or people talking about Nascar (like there's that much to talk about).

Edmunds: Japanese First Drive: Honda Fit
There you go again, making blanket statements like that.

Honda to join NASCAR!
Let me revise my question, to what motorsport are you referring to? If you think manufacturers sponsor V6 FWD cars in NASCAR, I think you're a little confused. Honda participates in many different motorsports, on many different levels (from full factory sponsored teams to only partial sponsored teams). It would be extremely difficult to get a list of every single team that they sponsor in every different racing series in every country.

Honda to join NASCAR!
So they're supposed to put their family sedans and luxury cars into racing series? Honda and Honda sponsored teams are in a LOT of different racing series, not just open wheeled. The first one that comes to mind is Speed World Challenge. Realtime racing's Acura TSX's and RSX's (and previously Integra's) have dominated their RWD competition for a long time (site is moving slow right now otherwise I would post facts). Racing series like those are actually fun to watch, since the cars are only lightly modified (unlike Nascar). So how many racing series does GM compete in with FWD sedans?

Edmunds: Japanese First Drive: Honda Fit
Well the Fit is rated to 33/38. Comparing real world numbers to epa estimates is pointless if you ask me. For all we know, the Fit could get more like 35/40 real world, it all depends on the driver.
-
Edmunds: Japanese First Drive: Honda Fit
So I take it you've driven both of the cars then (how else would they be fun, fun to look at?)? So how does the Fit drive anyway? Btw, that extra 50hp in the Aerio also gets you a crappy 25/31 mileage rating. Guess what, a 97-01 Integra Type R gets the same mileage, and has another 50 hp, and if you think that little Suzuki is more fun, well you're just crazy.

Honda to join NASCAR!
But they do serve sloppy joes, and you know what kind of crowd that brings...

Honda not to join NASCAR that is (how many of you had to make a trip to the bathroom after reading the title?) http://www.grandprix.com/ns/ns16378.html

Carmakers must re-report HP numbers
There was an article posted about the new SAE standards and how the "Japanese were ripping us off" in almost every single online magazine, car site, and news site (yahoo, msn, etc), back when it was first announced (and again with this new article).

GM Recalls Nearly 900,000 Trucks
The cables have a black rubber sheeth on mine, I'll have to look closer or use a magnet to see if they're stainless or not. Problem is people have been hurt, minor or not. The possibility for a very serious injury is too great, it is a BIG problem for GM, they should have never made this mistake in the first place (to save what, $5 a cable?)

those with thick accents need not apply
Yes! The only exception should be foreign language classes, of course. My college German teacher spent most of her time in Germany, and as such had a very noticable accent when speaking english. It never bugged me since we spoke german in the class most of the time (which is the point of the class).

Toyota Yaris: Why is toyota so stupid?
So you're basing all these judements on the fact that you saw the Yaris interior through a window and couldn't even sit in it? You're living in a dream world.

Edmunds: Japanese First Drive: Honda Fit
Wow you're just full of useful insight aren't you?

Edmunds: Japanese First Drive: Honda Fit
Well we won't know until we actually see the performance times. Just looking at peak numbers does say much, we need a complete tq plot on a dyno chart and put together with gearing we can see thrust curves and know how well it will accelerate at certain speeds. Gearing plays almost a larger role in accleration than the engine itself. And you also have to remember, of course it won't be "thrilling" to drive when compared to a Corvette, but maybe, just maybe, when compared to other vehicles in its segment, it might be fun to drive (maybe not thrilling though )

The Way Forward is Back
Well that's because the 91 Civic was the last year of its boxy body style shared by the 80's Civics (the ugliest Civics IMO). A 92-95 Civic coupe/hatch looks much better IMO. I do like the earlier Cavalier/Sunfire body style, I know two people that owned each. In their day they were very sporty looking.
