Part II: '07 Escalade Exposed
The 800 Escalade interior gives me nightmares.

....
Honestly? I'm not that concerned. With the Delphi situation, GM is poised to get some serious concessions on the next round of UAW contract negotiations.

Meet your new mommy...
Sorry, man...but the people who harass me and "testify" and ask me "when I have been saved" (duh...2000 years ago) and tell me that I must be going to hell if I don't subscribe to their exact beliefs...Yea I'm not a fan of pushy, bossy and intolerant Christians, and honestly I have only come across those characteristics in Christians who classify themselves as evangelical. Anyway, I didn't say ALL evangelicals were that way, but the Christians that I have found that way tend to label themselves highly evangelical. I mean this woman, although Catholic, claimed that she was a "spiritual warrior." MULTIPLE TIMES. That sounds pretty evangelical to me. This is a case of "all A is B but not all B is A." Sorry if you felt I was knocking your religion, but that was not my intent. I couldn't care less what you believe just as long as it does not infringe on my right to believe whatever I wish to believe.

Meet your new mommy...
Very few Christians are like that woman, only the fanatical and "evangelical" ones. I was raised Catholic, and most of the Catholics I have met as well as the more moderate Protestants (Episcopalians, Methodists, Presbys) aren't psychotic like she was. I hope that one day I can mention Lutherans with the rest of the Protestant sects I mentioned, but the only Lutheran families I have met are exactly like that woman was. And I know I cannot extrapolate based on a small number of families from the same parish. It was entertaining though...how she wanted all the non-Christian crew members out of her house...heh what an intolerant, bigoted b!tch.

Part II: '07 Escalade Exposed
But what about the upscale ones? The Chevrolet brand just doesn't have the image to offer credible, upscale versions of its trucks. That's where GMC comes in. Whereas Ford just has the Ford brand to market the F-150 as well as the Lariat, GM has Chevrolet for the Silverado and then GMC for the Sierra. It just fits to have an upscale brand, even if the products are essentially the same. Again, look at Mercury. There just is that something a little special about Mercury that Ford doesn't have. It is just a step up...

Nissan Moves to Nashville - It's Official
It most likely has to do with the fact that a dollar goes farther in Nashville. Nissan probably wants to hire mostly new workers whom they can pay a lot less dollar-wise. SoCal is way more expensive than Nashville. And wages reflect that.

Part II: '07 Escalade Exposed
Bingo! GMC is much more white collar than Chevy. GM cannot afford to lose the buyers who just won't buy a Chevy because it is a Chevy. Car snobs like that really do exist, don't ya know :AH-HA_wink:

Part II: '07 Escalade Exposed
But making Cadillac a full-line upscale truck manufacturer just diminishes their image. Remember, Before 1998, GMC was the ONLY real upscale truck and SUV manufacturer. Only in the case of the Escalade line does GMC overlap with Cadillac. If/when the SUV/truck shifts (and I think there's a good chance Caddy will be truckless in a decade) GMC will seem a lot more logical. But making the Envoy a Cadillac? Making the Sierra, Savannah and Sonoma Cadillacs? Please...that sounds ridiculous.

Isn't it nice? They are popping up all around sorrority houses and they look GREAT! Felix has one sitting under a little canopie, and I rubberneck everytime I walk by. VW did a great job with it!

GM shares fall on accounting error
As far as GM is concerned, they were errors. The accounting firm is the one responsible for using deceptive and sneaky accounting "rules." Rules is a huge misnomer in accounting, though. It's more like "practices" because the rules are very bendable.

Nissan Moves to Nashville - It's Official
Just telling you how it can come across sometimes, especially with the near-constant, exaggerated bashing you engage in of GM products. Some (read: quite a bit) is over the top and turns people off. Again, just telling how it all comes across at times. EDIT: Again, I have nothing personal against you; I don't know you. I'm sure you're a great guy. Sometimes your criticism of GM comes across as way harsh and whether intentional or not, sometimes you seem to "name-drop."

That's why I like the Imaj so much...it has a modern reinterpretation of the beautiful bustle back.

I, too, would have preferred a silver finish to the plastic, but hey, I'm not going to nitpick the best-executed Cadillac of the last 25 years.

You brag about your new Corvette, your S500, your BMW X5, and I'm sure I am forgetting some...you and your partner do seem kind of "rich" from statements you make like that. There's nothing wrong with that, and I come from a well-off family, BUT it seems kind of obnoxious to either put on airs then deny you are rich OR to "name-drop" your financial status and then deny you are rich. I do not know you and do not know which is true, but I'm just saying...you kinda give off the impression of having a good deal of money. Again, nothing wrong with it, but don't perpetuate an image on the board and then deny it.

GM shares fall on accounting error
Yup. He's right. Accounting is very subjective, and there are a lot of things firms can do "legitimately" to make themselves look better for investors or worse for tax breaks depending on the situation.

Yea...people get all riled up about things on here...and yet all indications from our insiders point otherwise. If the FBodFather thing has all been one elaborate hoax I will be laughing my ass off. GUARANTEED

GM Unveils 2007 Escalade
Agreed. That sixteen minigrilles forming into one big grille just wows me. I do like the headlight details too. GM got this one right; that's for sure!

Meh I don't think I'm being too critical. Those things should be hidden. Anyway, I prefer the SKY.

Election Night In Your Town
It didn't work for JFK either...he was an awful president; he just had the charisma to carry him. He singlehandledly caused the Cuban Missile Crisis and thankfully averted it...but barely.
