well lets just say the car had the 3.3L in it that makes 235HP.... on http://www.miata.net/sport/Physics/06-Speed.html scrolling down, it shows a formula to approximate how much hp it's needed to go so fast, for a corvette, maybe it an early 80's one? anyway... it says so it has a 5speed auto (for the sonata) lets just say it's not totally impossible, but it'd have to stay on the road, obviously, at that speed.

the tech that gives the 3.9 that 2 hump in torque curveit switches from a 2 "tiered" intake for low end torque, and one for high end hp.... can't think of a better way to explain it, other than it's electronicly controlled or it would be a passive intake (nothing moves), like anything you can buy . can prolly look it up, but i'll see if anyone else cares to explain it, or just see who replys untill tomorrow

is there any engine other than the 3.9 with the active intake? is there any proof or good rumors it's going to make it into more engines? side question... would that not do much if anything to inline engines power band?
