Please Stop Using CVT Transmissions!
Hyundai/KIA have switched to CVTs? That sucks. Have they NOT learned from Nissan's and Honda's mistakes?

Will Competition Destroy Tesla?
Sounds like Tesla is acting more like a regular auto dealer.

Too bad Elon Musk cannot get Tesla to perform GM-level quality control.

And yet Bose has been in Cadillac cars since 1980. At least they could be upgraded to better car speakers fairly easily. These days, it seems almost impossible to upgrade today's infotainment systems if they are weak compared to aftermarket stuff that is easily obtained. If you lease, that is irrelevant.

Chevrolet News:Silverado Electric Pickup to have Four-Wheel Steering
Until I looked it up, I was under the impression that a 1970 Impala was huge. It is only 216 inches long on a 119 inch wheelbase. Sounds almost like the size of today's MIDSIZE trucks now.

Chevrolet News:Silverado Electric Pickup to have Four-Wheel Steering
Too bad a lot of those ideas were either not implemented (4WS for 30 years) or executed poorly (V8-6-4). Nowadays GM might be looking to come back, but what GM product NOW would pull somebody out of a Toyota or Honda?

Is GM's Ultium using AC induction or DC?

Chevrolet News:Silverado Electric Pickup to have Four-Wheel Steering
I had no idea that Quadrasteer was a third-party add-on for the GMC Sierra. Good thing that GM is building this in-house this time.

Chevrolet News:Silverado Electric Pickup to have Four-Wheel Steering
Sounds like the successor to GMC's Quadrasteer from about 15 years ago. Too bad it was priced too high for many buyers to get it.

Unfortunately, Toyota is the best seller in a lot of segments. Once upon a time, it was Chevrolet. If only GM can get that sales leadership back with segment leading products. . . . .

Alternative Fuels & Propulsion RANDOM
Vinyl is strictly a niche market now. Nothing like it was in the pre-CD era. As for wind-powered ships that haul freight, that sounds like a good idea with one concern. Sailing ships took 6-8 weeks to come from Europe to the US East Coast. It would have taken more than three months to sail from China to the US West Coast back when sailing ships were the norm. If you can get sailing ships to be as fast as diesel-powered ships, that could actually work out OK.

Real effort on GM's part need to be in every market segment GM competes in. Ideally, GM would be the market leader in every segment it competes in. Basically, vehicles such as the Equinox and the Terrain and the Envision should be best in class. Trucks aside, CUVs are the biggest sellers and GM need to be best in class.

And as long as farmers and contractors do that, GM does not care to compete in any market. That is truly SAD. Too bad all the decent business leaders look up to FaceBook and Google, rather than take on the challenge of fixing an old industrial stalwart and making GM actually great again.

ICE Alfa Romeo to Electric Alfa e-Romeo in 3 years? :Comments
Stellantis is thriving? Uh, that firm still has not rationalized their entire lineup as of NOW. While I would LOVE to see GM essentially bring back the Chevy SS and have a Buick/Cadillac equivalent, sadly that is not happening. At the very least, a whole lot of turbo 4cyl vehicles can easily have those engines replaced by a GOOD v6 (think 3800 or 3900, NOT the interference 3.6 v6). GM has essentially dumped all of their small cars because NONE of them sold in any numbers worth sustaining. I do agree on dumping larger engines just for MPG. GM should dump the turbo 4cyl for a real v6 instead in most if not all models.

Will Competition Destroy Tesla?
I agree. Tesla and Rivian and all the EV automakers had better either build a 30K vehicle or get their lunch eaten by FORD and perhaps Toyota.

Mary Barra is doing what shareholders want, not car enthusiasts. GM needs cars that will drive traffic into showrooms right now. Looks like Ford is at least two years ahead of GM at the moment.

Is the 2 Door Muscle car era coming to an End?
Falling sales have crushed both muscle cars AND convertibles. Seems like almost anyone who can either buy or lease new wants a crossover these days. Also, there is no guarantee that EVs will ever be in a convertible format. Sad, really ☹️.

GM News: GM Super Cruise Added to 6 Model Year 2022 Vehicles
Start expensive then move it all the way down the line. Standard on just about every innovation (especially in cars) out there. SuperCruise is great though.

On Tour - 2019 Buick Regal TourX
Too bad really. I could easily replace my stock GM radio in my Buick Lucerne. Sometimes, I wonder if we are better off buying a base model which has far less stuff for the infotainment. Or is that now too hard on newer cars?

GM News: GM Ultium Battery and HYDROTEC Hydrogen Fuel Cell Leading the Rail Industry!
This I can wholeheartedly get behind. Save fuel and equal to better performance. Now if only we can replace a lot of interstate trucking with more freight rail, especially at our ports. . . .

Good. Now do the same thing to all the CUVs. While GM is at it, dump AFM too. It is not worth the hassle of saving 1 MPG!

Falling cash flow is a bad sign. I do hope that GM fixes that. Other than that, good job.
