  1. take a picture under the hood. i suspect you may need to remove the headlight and/or some shrouding that would be on top of/next to it. can you see the wire that goes to the bulb? no, you don't have to take the bumper or fenders off to get to it.
  2. a resounding no for the turbo GP, I haven't seen any evidence that you're much in the way of mechanically inclined, and we're talking heavy work to keep that baby running. but if you wanna get something new, and you have the means, then go for it! get something you really enjoy, don't worry about impressing us/anybody else with your choice.
  3. not bad! i'd have definitely given that a look a few months back. go check it out, and make sure you find out the true mileage on it. the motor's not the only part that accumulates wear over mileage... nice catch, though!

geez... i musta been around since 2000 or so, back when there were the new car pages, and i think there were platform pages too... nutty. five years of my life, nay six, WASTED! :P
  5. if you went with a prelude like that i'd go with a some more import-appropriate wheels. no chrome, it just doesn't look right. you seem to be pretty interested in hondas. generally speaking do you prefer 4th gen preludes (like the ones you've posted) to 5th gens (such as mine)? or are they just out of your price range?
  6. that wrx looks great, i'd check into reliability. that v6 firebird, on the other hand... looks... aged. something's goofy with the civic, i think it requires lowering immediately. and maybe a lip spoiler instead of the wing. check into one year later, i think '98, for the 240. those cars are GORGEOUS, and RARE. personally i'm not a big fan of the Lumina Z34, if only because of the horrible 3.4 TDC engine and the... horrible interior. i'd hate to drive a so-called sporty car where i can actually fall between the driver seat and door :-/
  7. one vote against the probe here, if it's the 3.0 ford "vulcan" v6 (which i believe it is), it's not going to be horribly reliable, or fast, or pretty sounding. corrados are okay, but they tend to be old, and worn out. volkswagens are rattle traps and not the king of reliability either...
  8. and here comes Croc with the subtlety diffuser
  9. some are very hands-on, and others tend to go head-first into such ventures...
  10. sweet, it'll be a blast. halloween was already unforgettable, i went to a party with about 800 other people and it was a seven hour blast-o-rama. the night before thanksgiving, deep dish is coming to play at the meridian. this will also be huge, as was their last event in houston. then i'm looking forward to recover with a nice turkey dinner, freakin' sweet! holidays are fun.
  11. i once had a lady come into shop class back in high school with a brake light switch and a ford explorer (well, mercury mountaineer). i was like, how are you so sure? she said, both brake lights are out, as is the third brake light! i said, let me test them. she said, no, install the switch. so i did, and they didn't work. turns out all the bulbs had burnt out, starting with the top light, and then the left and right ones in short order from one another. SCORE ONE FOR CHRIS
  12. pull the bulbs out and test the sockets with a volt meter. if there's no voltage when you shift to reverse (you can do this without the engine running, i should point out), it's probably the reverse light switch. remove the center console and shifter boot, and locate the switch. check continuity with it in and out of reverse. wiggle it to see if you can get it to work. then fix or replace it.
  13. niice. it's a little ricey with the monster tach and the wheels, but it's a gorgeous color. we could totally start the C&G honda club!
  14. for purposes of national security i recommend not asking such questions in the future.
  15. as far as i know, V6 firebirds always came stickshift! and fortunately for you, that brilliant, wonderful and horribly unreliable mechanical nightmare of the 3.4 TDC motor never wound up in the F-bodies.
  16. integras hold up pretty well. they've got decent interiors (a touch cheapish, but... better than a saturn's by miles), they're pretty peppy (even the LS models)... and they're pretty reliable! i might also recommend a prelude. ;-)

drinking won't help things. go out and make some regular friends first, forget finding another "girlfriend" or whatever for a while. sure they have to find you, but staying at home and abusing yourself isn't going to give them any opportunities!

don't drink alone, especially at your age. i've seen far too many people go down a pretty nasty road starting that way.

religious requirement? how old are you? a lot of times saying "never" can come and bite you in the ass pretty quickly these days.

hmm. i once had a hurricane that was about 3/4 151 by volume. i met a semi-famous rapper that night too. i never saw pot as a heavily social drug, it's more of a... sit around and do nothing, together sort of drug.

honestly i haven't had a drop of alcohol in about three weeks now, and i'm just fine with that. i'm not a huge fan of the whole intoxicated feeling to be honest. while i've managed to perfect the art of the hangover-free night of drinking, i think it's a very important lesson for most people. make no mistake: alcohol is a fairly toxic psychoactive drug. it's fairly hepato (liver) toxic and at sufficient doses can be neurotoxic as well. that said, once, a few friends of mine and i wound up downtown with a truck full of somebody else's traffic cones and construction signs. nobody remembers exactly why.

double shots of rumple minze on a wednesday night is totally for pussies.

i've been too drunk to feel my face on many an occasion. there's one club i used to go to for that express purpose. i've drank probably my own weight in clear liquor before, several times, usually ruining my chances with some pretty lady in the process. but don't hold out on us, share your experiences!
  25. kahlua is good stuff. i can't stand beer, oddly enough.
