Impala SS hands down. It is an awesome drive and the interior upgrade to the buick isn't that huge (and they are very similar!). Plus get it in black and it's almost badass looking.

Yeah it is identical to the gladiator almost. I think the steering wheel is done that way on purpose for handholds/offroading, no? I don't mind it. I think in black it will look better.

I figured you would be up all night otherwise. me i'm exhausted. even virtual reporting from L.A. via Chicago is rough. plus an awesome championship game. Goodnight folks! oh and not much else happening tomorrow unless you like Ferraris.

  7. Yep another debut. This sucker has 520 hp but is still 0.1 seconds slower than the SRT8 Jeep Grand Cherokee. the porsche is also 3x the price! http://www.mph-online.com/web/prtranslated/00369

I also posted this over in European Marquees. forgive me http://www.mph-online.com/web/news/00251 New 3-wheel roadster. Supposedly ready for production.

  10. Our Managing editor weighs in on GM's corporate look on the blog site. http://www.mph-online.com/blogs/0090 He has a different take on the situation.

I'm coming in saturday night to settle into my hotel room/office and then hit the show running Sunday morning first thing since I must cover more than just GM ;) But let's meet in the press room for sure after the glorious first day. Cellie is coming over PM.

just think how many golf bags you could fit in that trunk!

Yes it does ride higher and actually looks remarkably similar to this concept shot. They just redid the front fascia, where the problem lies in my opinion. it juts out like a bulldog with a bad underbite. otherwise you are staring at the production version. jsut with different wheels.

From the official shots (just wait one more day) it is similar to the Escalade right down to the lights. it's just the rounded edges take away from the distinct look of the slade and leave something more generic. Every time I hit a GM event and you think about killing GMC they show you the crazy sales numbers. They sell a lot of them. Hence the third member of the family.

Both Patriot and Compass are coming out. Unfortunately the Compass looks better with that black body cladding. Not sure why anyone would run spy photos today when the real thing is dropping in a few days. Anyway the patriot is a looker, like the classic cherokee. it will sell well. the compass is a bit over the top. not quite sure why they're doing both. I'm guessing Patriot will debut at Chicago. that's just a guess though.

if they do another roadster they're idiots. plain and simple. The nomad makes much more sense or anything with a fixed f-in roof please. sheesh. plus we can assume the camaro if it comes out will have a vert too.
  17. mphmag replied to Chris_Doane's post in a topic in Other Auto Shows
i think they might do something better for the camaro. let's hope. But hands down worst presentations were mercedes-benz and bmw last year. Snooze...the mph guys have some drinking game they make up out of buzz words every year. I'll see if we can post something about it and not get in trouble.
  18. It's the Reflex. Everyone start singing duran duran. they better play that song at the unveiling or else they're lame. and it is small no shelby for sure. think mini Iosis. I wonder how much the mazda will look like it. if they're similar I'd think theyd be built off same platform.

I'm not aware of one. But who knows. Also I'll be in the press room probably the whole f'in time if you guys want to stop by.
  20. From chevy's experience it equals about the same mileage. but remember this is high octane stuff! they use it in funny cars etc. plus in Illinois it is a bit cheaper than regular unleaded let alone mid to high octane unleaded. subsidies and tax credits i think lead to that price. 310 HP! though and all that torque. hmmmm torque. if you're in the midwest these make more sense.

the other stations had a longer commercial with the z06, cobalt ss, tahoe and others handing off a briefcase with one of the lights from the NYE ball. it was pretty good IMO. the hats were everywhere. people will keep them/remember them etc. good marketing.

The wheelbase is 4 inches SHORTER than the 300C/Charger. It is 6 inches longer than the ORIGINAL Challenger. Overall a little under 3 inches shorter than a NEW Charger.
  23. oh that's still the 2006 info unlike the 2007 model year info i have for the LA show. I was wondering. Also I'm not sure if it's even worth posting about it right? nothing changed for the standard model as far as I can tell. but if you guys care I can put it up with the gxp info saturday.
  24. where'd you see the price? it's not on any of the materials i have.
  25. Automobile running that chop prototype image on their cover is horrible. And I think there is a reason those images are allowed around. The concept will be a much more complete look. Remember those images are just the clay mockups from a few attempts back.
