Considering that they are hurting for being able to create their own vehicles and really have very little manufacturing of their own, this could be the Death Bell for them as an auto company. I could see someone buying them up for their technology and just making Subaru a part of Auto History.

OK, Lets hear some valid reasons as to why they should NOT sell auto's? Yes they have not had them before that I can remember and they did have the performance Syclone and Typhone. So why not have a performance auto? Would it be better that Buick have a mid luxury Perfomance line? I could live with that.

You have made some very valid points. My day right now is colored as where I work has been closed down and so I am unemployed and like many here probably thought the likes of the bank and UAW as a better alternative than the gov. But like you stated above you do have some valid points if they Gov stays focused this way.

Personally, BG does not need an econo box or any other low end vehicle. The focus being on mid luxury, they can and very well could keep a number of Pontiac buyer by moving the G8 over to GMC as a performance mid luxury sedan under the Denali banner. Maybe also the G6 so they have a lower Coupe GT performance model but otherwise I would focus on bringing better, new mid lux performance models under the GMC logo with the Denali line.

Yea, Chevy, GMC or Buick, this car is a winner and they need it as the public is excited about it. Personally I think they should go GMC on it as a Sporty Mid Level version of an Auto Denali.

We'll I am as of today joining the 9 million plus that are now unemployed. Only 2 weeks ago they company talked about how our new product division is so strong and great and boom, the upper mgmt shows up today flying in from San Jose to Seattle and immediatly pulls us all into a team meeting and informs us that under the new organization they will be closing down this engineering site. Each of us got a compensation package and the day to clean out our offices. So much for thinking our long hours and new products what securing our jobs through this depression. :nono: :nono:

Weaird, Stopped by the BPG dealership here and they are sold out of the G8, since the positive media about the G8, they cannot get enough of them to sell. One of the sales people told me he wished they would keep the car and slap a Buick or gmc name plate on it as every person who test drove it over the last couple months bought the car. Seems GM needs to keep the auto going since it is a winner with people looking for a sporty 4 door quality auto. One last interesting comment was that the sales people I talked with said people did not car about the name plate as much as they read and heard only positive things about the G8. So hopefully they can keep this baby going.

WOW, This baby of a Whale does look like the Camry, yet it will sell due to that Asian loving Consumer Reports will talk it up and say it is great unlike their hate for all American Auto's. WOW, this thing is a boat now and anyone with common sense will say that looks like the aborted sybling of the camry

Happiness

Yes lucky for them due to a very poor line up of Fuel efficient auto's and Tree hunging supporters that are happy with Plastic, gutless auto's. Course not being an American Company and nothing they have fit me or my family. Average size of 6' plus tall I will never own a auto from them.

Camino, If the Ute does come as a GMC or Chevy model would you be interested to place your money there? Also which brand do you really feel it should go to? As a smaller luxury truck for GMC as a possible Denali model of GMC Ute or the Chevy El Camino?

I totally agree, either a high end chevy or better yet make it the performance mid lux sedan for Buick. This would still bring in the mid 30's year old people to a brand that can grow. They also could just slot it as a GMC Denali 4 door sedan.
