  1. You're a dick. I just started my current job a year ago(13 months) and I only have 16 days of PTO a year.. I don't think it goes up until my 5 year mark. I have 25 official days off per year, but I've been with the company 9 years in October. However, because of my unusual amount of travel and off-hours work, I earn a ton of comp time also. If I have to travel over a weekend or a holiday or even a 3 day weekend, I get those days back as comp days. It may sound great that I have 30 days comp time to use, but the reality is that I've earned them by giving up my weekends and holidays (I was traveling on both Good Friday and July 3rd, officially days off for me). Also, there is no chance in hell that I'll be using 30 days comp time by the end of the year. I have far too many projects coming up... and I'll be earning even more comp time in October and November. So the reality is that my employer is taking advantage of me. Ohhhhh.. yeah that is a completely different story than just hearing you have 47 days off a year. Can you can paid for what you don't use at the end of the year? We're allowed to be paid for up to ten days a year if we don't/cant use them but also required to take 5 consecutive days off at some point to just get a break. Hopefully you can get as many of those days off as possilble, bud. Everybody deserves a break. Especially ones working that much extra for their company.
  2. Does that mean.. the Renegade could adopt some performance parts as well then?

  4. +1 Haha, dude you realize there's an actual +1 button on these forums..? YES! but I wanted to put emphasis and let you know IIIII did that. lol Yeah but you still didn't click the button! MY REPUTATION IS AT STAKE. Hahaha Wow, I really thought I had already done then and then I was like, fk it. I want to add the "+1" to put emphasis.. and completely forgot about the actual click!

  6. Agreed. Honestly, I think they could have taken 15 years to make the car as long as it wasn't shown at an autoshow 15 years before production. They should have either been better at getting it finished or not shown it at auto shows anywhere close to how early they did. The Ford GT could have been hidden for 2 years.. they just kept it under wraps, like they should have and like Acura should have.
  7. I agree with this! I managed to forget about the new Camaro! I'm real excited about that as well. It just sucks (and makes sense for both companies) that they are running on opposite hi-po schedules. They're always staggered.

You may have just completely ruined the Avenir for me. It has a very similar body shape to the Panamera..which is one of the ugliest sedans on the market. $h!
  9. ..I still love the LFA.. Not sure what it is about it but it tugs at my heart strings. And I don't typically like how V10s sounds either but that LFA sounds gnarly.
  10. Oh yes I forgot about the diesel GM twins! I'm really intrigued about those as well. Heck, the new Camaro should be out soon too, right??? Might as well throw in the pony car comparisons. Those are always enjoyable to me.
  11. At this point.. I don't think it will ever be in production. It's all just a hoax to get people to look at the Acura name.

Ahh no biggie, man. Everybody has their opinions. It's just how they are portrayed that varies.. Some are good at voicing their opinions, some try and make their opinions sound as if they are a provable fact.

Okay Wings, I understand you like it but there is no vehicle on the market with chrome side skirs, and front and rear "splitter/diffuser". Nobody could honestly say that is considered minimal. You may think it is tasteful which I will politely disagree with but I don't think anybody is saying it is minimal. 110% agree. Lincoln’s heritage is rich with gobs of chrome. Even Continental. This concept can’t hold a candle to the amount used during most of Lincoln’s past, hence my remark of minimalist. I think it looks wonderful and tasteful. I respect your opinion to NOT like it. Please don’t disrespect mine. One of my fav’s http://www.schmitt.com/viewimage.asp?ID=4257 I see where you're coming from. I love the body and lines just not the chrome or at least the amount, for sure.

  16. About exactly like the title says. What new vehicles are you anxiously awaiting a read about?? I know I'm really excited to read about a few vehicle.. On the obvious side, GT350/R. Then on the less obvious side is the new Tacoma. Nissan Titan XD and Continental. The new Titan with a Cummins 5.0..That thing has potential to really shake up the half ton segment. By no means do I think it'll dethrone the D3 but I think it will make great competition and hopefully one of the D3 will make something competitive to it. I believe it is rated 350hp and 550tq. Not too long ago that was the big diesel numbers. Now it's a "mid sized" diesel. The Continental makes me really curious about their new twin turbo 3.0 and what transmission(10? 9? speeds) and how well they tune said transmisison as we all have read not everybody nails the tuning on their first go around. Shoot, I almost forgot about the new Focus RS! So..That too!

I hope this means that it'll look a lot like this in production form. Also, I hope there is a "not everything dipped in chrome" version. That would look a lot better, IMO.

Yeah, but that's for your basic 4-cylinder Malibu.... something high end like a Corvette one would think the purchaser would be more attune to the needs of the engine during the break in period. I completely agree.. but in today's society if it isn't written in front of your face it'll come back to who made it's fault. Good find!
  19. ccap41 replied to ccap41's topic in Chevrolet
Agreed on personally breaking them in but I'm pretty sure manuals don't specify break in periods on anything really anymore. And if so its really short like 500 miles.. I think if I ever bought anything brand new I'd change the oil at 1000 miles then 3000 miles then every 5000 after that. I know modern engines and oil can easily hit 10000 mile intervals it's just the old school in me that has a hard time trusting that..even when there's proof otherwise..

Saw this..Thought it was interesting. Thought I'd share. I haven't read it all yet because I gotta get going some place but thought I'd post it real quick. " Last time we checked in on the reportedly fussy Corvette Z06 engine, it was leaking vital fluids after Fox News reporter Gary Gastelu took it to the track. Now it appears that Chevrolet has a fix for at least one of the Z06’s reported engine problems: change the oil, stat. According to a General Motors spokesman, the catastrophic engine failures all seem to have three things in common: early production builds, oil contamination and low miles (under 2,000). (Maybe that explains the one that bought the farm at 891 miles.) According to Chevrolet, contaminants in the oil can cycle through the engine during break-in, causing all sorts of fun for owners. (We haven’t heard official word from some owners as to what exactly went wrong, but we’re efforting.) ..." 21. Hahahaha oopsies.. Sorry.. not my cup-a-tea color.. I think the Ford has a little more of a pink to it. I know nothing about the AWD system in those Fusions. I'd have to read up on it before making a decision. I know 99% of the time I wouldn't be utilizing it anyway so I'd probabl just rock the FWD in it. Yeah, it's not a dig at Ford's AWD. I just don't see the point of anything less than a torque vectoring system unless you get a lot of snow or live up a dirt road. People equate AWD with performance and 9 times out of 10 that's wrong, or they assume they're getting real 4WD and think they're invincible in bad conditions. People also think tires don't matter if you have AWD/4WD. The Escape forum I'm on people say how bad the AWD is on the Escape when really the OEM tires aren't made for snow. They're an "all-season" but definitely leaning towards the summer and rainy months not the snowy ones. I had a lot of tread on my tires last winter and they felt quite sketchy at low speeds when we got snow. Sketchier than they should have been for the tread depth they had(7/32nds). I realize it is for "emerency" situations and not a free reign to drive like a jackass. Most don't realize that though. It REALLY grinds my gears when somebody is riding with me and want me to drive more aggressive or faster when it's raining or snowy/slushy.. Stupid. Ignorant. People.
  22. My mom has a '12 Fusion and loves it. 2.5L engine, FWD(I don't think AWD was even available then with the smaller engine). I REALLY like the '13+ Fusions. I wish my parents would have held out for them but her Grand Prix was starting to run up the maintenance bills quicker than they liked so it was about time. What kind of mileage do you get out of that with the 2.0 and AWD? I would have to believe ~3-4mpg better than I get in my Escape with the 2.0 and AWD. I prefer the 2010-12 body style Fusion. I thought the Malibu LTZ 3.6L and Fusion Sport 3.5L were really great unsung American cars. They drove as well as any sporty Japanese FWD and looked great doing it, just too bad they didn't offer manual transmissions. Fusion Sports still catch my eye when I spot one. They catch my eye too. I saw one just yesterday, ugly color.. it was that half red, half maroon, half pink(yes. three halves. ). Funny "story". When I was selling my Mach 1 I had some guy offer to trade me his Fusion Sport AWD straight up for my Mach 1. Monetarily, it was pretty fair actually. I just didn't want the hassel of trying to sell that and then being another owner on the title decreases value.. Just wasn't worth the work, imo. I think it also had just a little more miles on it than i wanted to buy with. Hahaha you just described the red jewel tintcoat on my Malibu. I'll just assume it looks worse on the Ford for some reason. I'd forgo the passive AWD. FWD is lighter and more nimble.
