Chevrolet News:The 2018 Chevrolet Equinox Could Have Looked So Much Different
It doesn't help either that the Equinox seems like a minor step forward while the CR-V has taken a quantum leap. I liked the last gen Equinox, especially the later models with the 3.6 V6 and thought the last CR-V was an overrated POS. That has changed.

LOL, we aren't talking about the Mustang, but for the heck of it, the Mustang is in it's 3rd model year with a MAJOR update coming up soon. the Camaro is in year 2 with no major update over the horizon. They started having to offer rebates almost immediately after the Camaro came out BTW. Off topic, but that has to be the best looking RC I have seen.

That is a good question. Somehow I am sure a lot more was said. I am guessing Ford will probably settle and end up adding he coolers to these cars. Not that they should reall need to, but it is best for them to nip this in the bud and avoid the bad publicity and will be cheaper for them in the end.

the are putting BIG money on the hoods of Camaros right now, so I don't know how the whole profit over sales thing is working for it. You are right though, a lot of the 5th gens success was because of a backup of fans waiting for it. I love the exterior of the new Camaro. For me I feel like the tightened up the lines to a point they should have been from the beginning. I think they could have done much better with the interior, particularly style-wise. they also didn't fix the most major issues of visibility and space.

Since the latter had already been beat to death, my point was pretty clear. I assumed you would be able to understand that, sorry I didn't spell it out with a ridiculously long and overbearing reply outlining every nuance of the reply and the specifics of the thought that led to the reply.

WTF are you going on about? there was no "false equivalences). CCap stated he public was having issues with the Alfa, i mentioned THE PUBLIC was also having issues with the Vette and GT350. of course I mentioned Ford, LORD HELP US!!!! You don't even like the mere mention of negativity on Ford's behalf so you try to turn things around put words in people's mouths to try and say they said something they didn't............

Honda News: Oops! Honda Accidentally Reveals the Upcoming Civic Si's Torque Figure
I like it. the exterior is weird, but i love the interior. I got this email like last Thursday (yes, I am signed up for updates). I am going to guess 210 or so on the HP and it should pull pretty well from low rpm to redline. Considering the current normal 1.5T is as quick, or quicker, than the last Si, this should be a pretty fun little drive. i also like that it comes with a real limited slip differential. Also, a ricer is one who does body mods on base models with no real performance upgrades, this thing is going to have a little fire in it's bell and be fun to drive. That said, I am certainly wishing VW does a next gen bug on the MQB platform. Not holding my breath, but that with a 2.0T and GTi tuning would be my next vehicle.

Industry News: BMW and Mercedes Admit They Have Too Many Models, Plan Cuts
Love the ATS coupe, but you are 100% correct. Rear seat room is very tight. it is tighter than my bug, a car nearly 20 inches shorter! It does have it's advantages in a MUCH nicer interior and better sight-lines, but sadly the Chevy probably has a better infotainment system. The only thing the ATS has the Camaro doesn't is AWD and I see that changing if demand ends up being high enough for the Challenger GT since moving the AS AWD system to the Camaro would be the same cakewalk as moving the Charger system to the Challenger. Anyways, i have been thinking on what coupes/Verts would be cut. For BMW I can see the 2 series and 6 series getting the axe and the upcoming 7 series coupe (8 series?) on the chopping bock. I don't see them killing the 4 series ever and the i8 hybrid has a unique place in their lineup. Mercedes i could see the S class coupe/vert and the E class coupe/vert being killed off. The SLK still serves as their cheapest entry level roadster, the C class is need to go up against the 4 series/A5/ATS. etc, and the SL is one of those core cars in their lineup. I don't see the 4 door "coupes" going anywhere. In fact, I see them taking the place in their lineups of the dropped coupes. This reminds me of the mid/late 90s/early 2000s when coupe models were falling like dead flies. T-Bird, Cougar, Cutlass, Mark VIII, Eldorado, Cutlass, Grand Prix, etc, etc.

I agree 100% Just about any new car is going to go to the dealership at some point for warranty or recall work and if the service department does not instill trust during this or regular maintenance it can certainly hurt them. Oh yes, I can imagine. They need to not only talk the talk, but walk the walk.

hopefully they will start that dealership overhaul sooner rather than later. Especially once you reach a certain price point the expectations for he dealership and service goes way up. It has to be all inclusive too, it can't just look the part, it has to be the part. One of y brother's issue with his Audi was actually the dealership. It was beautiful, awesome comfy showroom with wood floors and cushy offices, but the techs were awful. It hink half the problems he had stemmed from their incompetence.

Oh, I certainly agree there. That has been a major issue for Fiat as well, but they seem to expanding there some. Yeah, I remember that weird marketing and sales practices now that you mention it. Their cars weren't exactly decent looking either (exterior). I feel this hurts cadillac some as well. They do have some decent dealerships that are specific to them, but then you have ones like our local dealer who treats you like just some other Chevy customer, and their loaners are even last gen Impalas. Now, the dealership my brother bought his car from in Indiana is VERY nice, but they are a high end dealer. Salesman drove the car down and even went over the features in a mall parking lot. Okay, I love this analogy!
