  3. Awww.... Find it kinda funny that my dogs are around me like that when I am on facebook..... ?
  4. There has been talk at GM in cost savings to only keep the LT and Premier trims around starting mid 2021. This allows savings while giving customers all the stuff they want.... Granted, I happen to like not having a loaded car..... https://www.wallstreetreporter.com/2020/12/ford-motor-co-cuts-contract-workers-effective-immediately-ends-buyout-period-for-salaried-employees/ You already know what is coming next.... Lots of job loss in the auto industry.... ?
  5. Sadly, that was the way I was told if I want anything different than what is ordered. GM seems to want GM dealerships to order stuff in a certain way, in bulk. Have a co worker who simply wanted a basic Equinox L in silver ( he was paying mostly cash for it) and was told he would have to order it. Any Ls on the lot were only for businesses......

  7. A tiny bit sad tonight...get to say goodbye to an old ride tomorrow. Wife’s old 2003 Cavalier is going to my MIL’s BF tomorrow. At least it gets to go to a person who will still take care of it..... While it’s laughable to be sad about a Cav, I guess when you have it for nearly 17 years it simply grows on you. Lots of memories in that car! Wife is sadly putting pressure on the other Cavalier we have, my 2004- to get rid of it as well. While she knows it’s my “project” car ( and still runs great, rust free, but needs a new cluster-thanks GM) as she thinks we need to start preparing for the worse and saving money everywhere we can. I’d like to think we wouldn’t have to go that far...

  21. Yep. Still will need to be the best for both worlds. For extreme weather, towing, and off road activity ICE is still king. But for local commuting or long trips to work or play, EV can be a changer there. One simple charge to get all of your shopping done. I still plan to own both..... ?
  22. I kinda go a big both ways here. I do believe that the earth goes in cycles (Hot, cold, etc) and that it is going to change regardless of what we do. But, I also feel we can speed up that change by adding more Co2 and other chemicals to the air/earth/sea.... And we need to find better ways to power these things for the future as well. Can’t simply use nuclear and coal forever. We need to make solar, wind and even sea powered ways to get energy for our car and home. I might be the minority, but I believe that both EV and ICE powered cars can live in harmony, and that both can be around......

  24. The man makes some good points. ? Adding thoughts: 1) I think cost is going to be big- but I also wonder if the batteries will be able to be repaired by cell, or if the whole thing gets tossed like a Duracell. I can also add the cost to charge it up.... 2) Time is still an issue, but like phones, I think they will be able to charge them faster. And, like gas powered cars, they would not need to be fully charged- enough to get home to finish it up. Still requires planning though! 3) For all the talk about Tesla, their cars remind me of cheap Chinese cars you see crash tested. I have yet to know a person who has a Tesla that has not has not had some sort of issue with it. And most of it from being cheap. I used to work for a supplier that fed parts to Tesla, and they were famous for cutting corners....... 4) Agreed!
