I figure if it’s your “project” car, you should be okay. ? Rust doesn’t look too bad, but I would want to see under the doors and around the rockers to see how much work would be evolved. Car will need a paint job anyways....will be different colors as she’s being fixed . Plus, you could always customize the car to your liking as well. The resources are out there, plus we have Balty too to offer advice.... I myself have been looking around for a fun project.......

First thing I missed- you were in the UP? Too bad I didn’t know....we could have met up if you were going south down 75.... ? Second thing- If the price is good- jump on it! If it costs you a few bucks here or there, no big deal- you only live once. Worse case, you could resell it to a car person if it became too much.. Plus, you would have some great stories to tell... I recently had a chance to get a wagon version of my first car, a 1987 Cavalier RS. I totally regret that now. I kept coming up with excuses to say no...but it was in good shape! Did need some stuff though. I say give it a shot!

Yep. And to that, I have no answer...maybe it is the car. ( to be fair- a few of the Malibus were rentals) Sadly, I have not had the seat time I used to in new vehicles.... ? Glad there were no issues with the tire.........

You know Irony when I have that same 1.5 hiding in my Equinox. ? Maybe I was a bit mean calling it useless, as it is not bad in the Equinox or the now departed Cruze. But- those are both compacts with the Mali being bigger I feel it shows at times... I’d say 90% my Nox can haul ass too....though sometimes it does have it moments. Part of my distaste of it in the Malibu is that quite often I have driven the Mali right after driving the Equinox.....as you can feel the difference then. It is funny you say that about the Malibu....I kinda feel the same way about the Trax. For only 136 ponies-this little 1.4 can get up to 75 pretty quick when it wants to... I think that is the only think it really do not like about the Equinox is that stop start. Even after owning it for a year and a half, sometimes I have a mini panic when it stops running....Otherwise it has been a great little CUV ? That sucks! I had the same thing happen to my Cobalt at the start of the year! Thankfully they were able to save the tire...

I’m a bit confused myself, as I have a good friend whose family is Korean, and say pretty much verbatim what David says. Different cultures see different things. Like my German friend who happens to hate VW.... ? Based on their current products compared to GM, I would now would put the twins just below GM, and creeping up faster every day. Kia already has two products that I would say would be better than GM’s.... the Soul (against the Trax) and the K5 (against the Malibu). While we love our Trax, had there not been such a good deal on it- Good chance a Soul could have been in the driveway. The Malibu suffers behind the K5 in a few ways: Simply dated, and that useless 1.5 that they keep using for it. The 2.0 should have been standard.....

Finally got my new Facia for the Cobalt...and for the first time in like 13 years, it will now have an LS bumper on the car instead of an LT bumper...... ? Gotta get everything done before winter.......

Welp, time to dump the “truck”..... Don’t see things getting better with that trans. You could do what a buddy of mine is doing- get A Silvy single cab work truck and custom it up a bit! I didn’t realize just how many things could be added to that truck... ?

I do like the color....a Soul was on the table for my wife until and Trax won in the end. But I really have a soft spot for these...can’t go wrong with one. Congrats to your mom!
