  1. Costco is where we do our major shopping. One reason we shop there is principal... a good amount of Costco stuff is NAFTA, even the Champion socks are made in Mexico. Another reason is the quality of the goods, which are hard to beat, and their return policy is totally awesome. Finally, Costco is our ideal company. It's civically responsible in that it funds environmental projects, and other causes and also the CEO is one of the lowest paid in North America. He makes a little over 300K a year (millions in stock) and the employees are very highly and fairly paid.

  3. There's aggressive, and there's superficially aggressive... This thing screams aggressive, but at the same time it's subdued... like a bodybuilder in a dark suit, it knows it has the muscle, but it doesn't have to show off. I think Pontiac could do a few things to differentiate it from it's Holden roots, but don't make it overwrought like some Grand Prix's and Grand Am's of the past... Keep it subtle, keep the motors, and let it burn some rubber with class.
  4. Maybe I ought to give you the address to my cousin in Perth. He tinkers all day long with his straight six, RWD Ford Falcon all day long. He also complains about FWD Japanese cars honing in on Australia's turf with bland designs and anemic powertrains. Wow... you two are like peas in a pod!

  6. Wow. Now he's totally popular! I'll bet if Paris Hilton knew that Cheers & Gears provided instant popularity, she'd have gone here, instead of making that, um, video... This is a way less "invasive" way to get noticed.
  7. Either it's an error (probably ) Or maybe Ricky and Lutz know something we don't...

Probably just Tom Cruise on a bender, hunting for lord Xenu. forget about it.
  9. For those not metrically inclined ... 195 Kw = 261(.50) HP (call it 262) 270 Kw = 362(.08) HP
  10. That is one MEAN machine. I love the fender bulges. Yeah, it's not subtle, but it's beautifully done. Toyota SHOULD be quaking in their boots, but they aren't because they know that for some mystical reason that not even Stephen Hawking can comprehend, GM won't be bringing these to North America... I don't get it, the Middle East will get these! Aren't we on the continent that's supposed to not suck? :sign0200:
  11. Rusty Dodge Omni with Fart Can, racing stripe on ONE side of the car, no rear seat, and fire extinguisher for the "Nitro" (Repainted Coleman Propane Tank) tank... Saw it while doing yard work
  12. I'm sure the National Association to Advance Fat Awareness would have something to say about that... NAAFA

  14. If that's the case, I move we petition our governments to remove SUV-like fat kids off our sidewalks... Not only do they take up space and create massive blind spots in theatres, sports venues, McDonalds lineups, but they also expel emissions that are typically higher than a person of a more reasonable weight, in both solid and gasseous forms. Maybe we also ought to reduce their fuel consumption, because I am getting sick of going to MickeyD's and watching fat kids eat 3 Big Macs, Super Sized Fries and Super Sized Cokes along with a Happy Meal just to get the toy and touching the napkin dispenser with their greasy, sweaty hands...
  15. I'd really doubt it... Toyota is already experiencing a few growing pains, and swallowing a company with like 80 vehicles would just be overkill. Plus, it'd re-assert the growing (slowly) feeling that Toyota is an unstoppable, corporate monolith.
  16. Weird... why does it seem all the small-midsize SUV's are becoming ugly. I thought the new RAV-4 was ugly, then Honda one-ups them with the new CR-V, Jeep's "Caliber" enters the fray and now Hyundai is the dead ringer for the big first prize...
  17. I doubt she'll get jail. Maybe the judge will even knock down her fine, and just tell her it's less of an inconvenience for the 911 operators if she just visited the local firehall...

  21. My city doesn't have a Wal-Mart, so people often sit in gridlock to go way out to the boonies to go there, burning up gas and time as they go. Wal-Mart has tried on a couple of occasions to open a store here in VanCity, but to no avail. They even went so far as to proposing a new type of store that was green (not just paintwise)... it would recycle rainwater, have solar panels and a wind turbine for power, huge skylights to let daylight in, have a totally shaded parking lot, the store would be surrounded by native trees, and the parking lot would be smaller in size to encourage more people to use alternative means of transport, and it was located on a major bus route. Rejected... ... Not environmentally and ethically proper enough for us Vancouverites... "Big Box" stores here in Vancouver have one hell of a time moving in, and when they do, they often don't look like "Big Boxes". Would I shop at Wal-Mart? Never have, and never will.
