Weird coincidence that when Kerk says that Nissan-Renault want a stake in GM, that the share price rises... Maybe Kerk wants more bang for his buck and could be looking to try and sell some shares. I hope it isn't true, but if it is, it goes to show how nutty the markets are, and how one nutbar can influence them. I doubt I see it happening. GM is still a huge company, and the idea that a Japanese and FRENCH company want in really doesn't seem right.

Even though I doubt it IS Buickman doing this, if it turns out he is, he's certainly done his homework. This certainly looks like a teenage girls's MySpace post. But although I've only read his posts, I think Mr. D. has enough self respect to not do this. Sorry buickmanwannabe, but you really ought to get a name change and maybe a cogent argument. Even if you change to something like Hendrix_Fan_462 or Cat-pain Yah-Boo, you'll likely gain a bit more cred. What's next? A collection of members banding together creating a fan club called the OcnBlu Cru(e)? As for what I've done, probably less than you maybe, but I drive GM and I always make sure I tell people who are looking at cars to take a second look at the General and give them the facts on GM vehicles. I might even look at selling cars for a GM dealership.

Normally when I'm feeling down I actually play songs that get me out of a bad mood (Van Halen's "Poundcake" for example"). Then again when I'm in a good mood I play the same songs too, usually power metal, glam metal or prog rock. ...They say stuff like that gives you brain damage. I don't agree. I've been listening to that stuff for years and I turned out Motley Crue...

Speaking of holiday marketing, goto Johnny.ca This is Chevrolet Canada's website aimed at people my age, plugging Aveo's and the like. I figure I'm the only person that visited it, considering the ads are, "dumb". This isn't my opinion, but the opinion of many people my age that I have asked, because I was curious if GM's marketing campaign was hooking customers aged 18 to the mid twenties... This is one glossy website... imagine if they put some of that cash into a better Cobalt interior... the car would sell itself...

Go give your pushrod powered car a hug if you haven't already. Did they say anything afterwards? Or did they drive off to tell their friends that they kicked a "sucky Impala's ass" and "totally pwned a Chevelle with a 454"

Since I live in VanCity, you don't have to look far for a Starbucks. You'd think it'll hit a saturation point, but it doesn't. Hell, on Robson street, there are two big Starbucks' kitty corner to each other. Down the street from me are two within a two block stretch... I live in yuppie central (so... many... Lexus'...) As for stories... I've never set foot in a Starbucks and I never will. Not because I support any loony anti globaliztion propaganda or any thing like that... it's just that I don't drink coffee... I've got plenty of McDonald's and fast food stories, but those are for another time.

I was thinking about this a couple days ago. After all, Hummer did have a single cab truck. A crew cab Hummer with a 5 1/2 short box might be a nice seller, or even a single cab version. It'd certainly give the Ram Power Wagon some competition, but also broaden the Hummer lineup.

What's likely for NA is construction of more nuke-u-lar facilities... Yeah yeah, there's the whole Chernobyl deal, but keep in mind that Chernobyl was in Russia and Russia's RBMK's are the Yugo's of nukes. I think Solar is too unattainable for now, but with nanotech making such great advances, it may become viable in the not too distant future. Wind power kicks ass, those huge turbines in huge fields look awesome... however, many people seem to disagree. They argue it ruins the scenery. Well Mr. NIMBY Latte Sipper... if we don't change our habits, there may not be any more scenery. There's plenty of energy out there... we just gotta be a little less lazy at getting it.

Finally, it gets a transmission that's fitting. The Pacifica is a nice car, but it didn't seem right that it had a rough minivan engine and four speed auto.

Wow... the Camo makes the car more exciting than it really is! Maybe instead of some cheesy ground effects package, Hyundai can offer a "Camo effects package" instead... You never know, it may catch on! Soon people will be buying "Camo Packages" for their Dodge Nitro's to cover up it's ugly mug.
