you're implying used 500's have resale value? dubious quality or not, the 500 with the turbo is a fun, useful urban warrior and way more practical than a smart.

mercedes gets away with their naming scheme because lay people covet their vehicles. cadillac needs names because they're forgettable otherwise.

because it's a) not really good compared to anyone else and b) you may as well just get a loaded civic i'm saying acura sucks and doesn't offer anything that isn't already done better by someone else

but therein lies acura's problem... if a CLA is a little cramped or harsh, nearly everyone else has an entry-lux alternative with more space/comfort. acura's entire MO has been co-opted by everyone else. the only thing they have going is that their vehicles are based on honda's and people are asking why bother getting an Acura when a Honda can be optioned just as nicely and is potentially better.

no one doubts that an fwd car can't be fun. it's that acura isn't fun and hasn't had a pulse since the TL's death. mercedes will sell you 'precision crafted performance' with their CLA... and so will these guys Audi Buick Cadillac Lincoln Lexus VW

alfa can't convince anyone of their italianness being superior to the germans so the french may as well just surrender this entire dumb idea.
