  1. Okay can the electric car haters just bury themselves already and hurry up the process of becoming fossil fuels because it seems that their goal is to buttsecks liquefied dead dinosaur carcasses.
  2. Maybe if the Gen X'ers and the boomers who actually have careers in the auto industry didn't design such $h!ty cars, Gen Y wouldn't be forced to buy them!!
  3. The Note 2 is my dream phone. I love almost everything about it, except the price. I can afford the $700 for it, but I have reservations plunking down that kind of money on a phone. The iPhone 5 is a great product, as much as I deride Apple. But the screen is just too small for me and I find myself having trouble using the keyboard. Add in the Apple ecosystem and it's just not for me. I think I'll end up getting a lightly used HTC One X and keep it over the winter. Prices on them have plummeted after the S3 and Nexus 4 releases.
  4. Canon's naming-scheme sucks. Essentially, the T1i has a much larger sensor, higher-res screen, shoots 1080 as opposed to the T3's 720 and slightly better image quality. Also, the sensor is self-cleaning, which is a neat little bonus. I do own a T1i, and I will say that it can be a little noisy when it comes to shutter sound and auto-focusing. But that's nothing to be worried about. The HD video is 21fps which is a little weird, but it looks fine for even semi-pro use. Also, the LCD screen is fixed in place - some people like one that can pop out and rotate. Again, 358 for a body and lens is incredible for what you get.
  5. If going the Canon refurb route, check this out: http://shop.usa.canon.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10051_10051_227015_-1 The T1i has better everything over the T3. For $358, it's an incredible price! The next step up, the T2i, has a slightly better sensor which lets it shoot low-light images slightly better. Also it does HD at a higher FPS, but neither warrant a $90 increase.
  6. Not bad, although the 75-300 isn't the greatest lens. You're better off with the 50-250mm. The T3 takes nice photos, but it's basic. Based on the price adjustments I've seen on the T4i, you might get a good deal on that model with the excellent 18-135mm lens that takes great shots and is optimal for capturing HD video
  7. Since the Taliban accidentally their email list, I'm sending this thread to them so they'll have a legitimate reason to hate America.

If it's another rustbucket that will dissolve if it comes within a foot of a puddle, then I predict your future will be filled with White Accords.

  11. Half the box is taken up by the CNG tank. This is brainy how?
  12. It's looking like the Nexus 4 is the one to get. No LTE is a bummer, but Google is saying the camera's performance is much improved over the Galaxy Nexus. At $350 outright, I don't think a better bargain can be found.
  13. There's always that 'air powered car.' But I'm not sure we'll want to pump that type of gas out of a hose.
  14. In terms of cost, AMD priced Piledriver reasonably. But the highest-end FX chip still sucks compared to an i5 760, a two-generation old cpu, in most applications that people use. Dumb.
  15. My venerable BlackBerry is just not cutting it anymore, So I'd like to get something new. I'm not attached to one OS or brand, though I do find the Nokia 920 to be very compelling, as well as the Galaxy Note 2, But it doesn't matter, whether it's a Samsung, Motorola, Apple or HTC, I'm all ears. I'll be using this phone for a lot of live-tweeting, quick in-a-pinch photography for blogging/publishing and as a modem for my tablet and laptop. So LTE is a necessity as is good battery life (hard to get both, usually) What phones do C&G'ers use and why do they like them? Any recommendations?
  16. A lot of it is guilt. Where I live (and I'm sure in Seattle too), a considerable number of Asian students have high-priced vehicles and toys, yet they live here alone. They're called 'satellite children,' because their parents are in Hong Kong or China. Wealthy parents don't have the time to actually be, well, parents. So they use material goods to offset the guilt. As this case shows, good parenting was missing.
  17. NOT DOHC. NOT CARING. 0/10000 GM. SIGNED, - TEH INTERNETS
  18. Why do you do keep doing this to yourself?!
  19. And just how much energy is required to do this? I can't wait to see how much 'clean coal' or fracked natural gas it will take.
