like many other nissans, the interior quality looks terrible. i passed on the maxima recently because i couldn't stand the interior design or quality. . the sentra's interior has a nice design for a compact, but the materials look bad.

dude, this things pegs the 'i would rather impale myself on rebar from 20 stories fall' than drive this bloated 626 knockoff. all this bodes well for the Aura, I think. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure the Camry will get more sales than ever, but i think the Camry has crossed the line with its blandness now and the Aura could be a huge beneficiary of the anti-vanilla backlash.

part of the reason GM lost those million Olds sales was the fact that asians built better cars. without pushrods i might also add, but in any case, it wasn't marketing failure. it was product and manufacturing failure.

sat in a torrent a couple weeks ago while getting the oil changed on my pontiuck.....and i've sat in many equinoxes before.......the interior plastics are horrible. quite possibly the nastiest plastic available in any car for sale today. there is no trunk space in the equinox, with or without the shelf...the wheel thingies take far too much space and there's not much hieght, depth, or width overall.

I like the GTO fine and with some aggressive fender reshaping its a good car. Some of the HSV Monaros are killer looking. The Camaro concept is a good looking car but really its still gonna be the bait for all sorts of mullet/redneck and gold chain jokes again. Its a great reiteration of the muscle car look again, but I think I prefer the GTO with some mods. The new Camaro concept car only appeals to the same bunch all over again and will only amplify the already bad rap it gets even more, once the newness wears off in a year or so. No one will be trading their G35c's or 3 series coupes for them.

i test drove one and also had a lenghty convo at the grocery store with someone who bought one. I liked it, but not enough to buy one. In truth, to me its a tossup between the PT and HHR. I would lean to the HHR, its a GM and looks better. I would probably go for a Vibe+supercharger or an Element or a Mazda 5 over either. My biggest beefs about the HHR were the claustrophobic cabin and poor automatic tranny. Had i driven the stick i may have felt different. the window swtiches not on the door would drive me INSANE.

if anything there will be more brands. Cars are going like consumer electronics, more brands, more models....brands come and go. Peuguot and Renault I think and maybe even Citroen are mulling a return to the US.......plus all the stupid chinese cars.

full size cars don't need to be so massive. my 500 has more useful room than just about all great 70's/80's big RWD boats, but is packaged much much better. And yet, i still think it could stand to have more room and space yet (town car?). hopefully they will continue to whittle away at the engine bay for space to return back to the passengers.

highway testing should be at 65 mph. most of our freeway traffic in town here is around 70 and closer to 80mph on interstates.
