2007 Dodge Caliber
chrysler's interiors have been really bad lately and this continues the trend; it lacks any style or sense of nice. but overall, it will sell and its probably ok on a cheap car like this. I'd rather see folks buy a Caliber instead of a stupid Hyundai Tucson.

2007 Dodge Caliber
your caravan will likely be cheaper than the Caliber, in real world pricing.

Detroit: Heal Thy Self
GM and ford ned to recognize this and reposition the public opinion to recognize that they provide jobs all across the country, and it wouldn't hurt if they decentralized to ther states as well so more of the US could benefit as opposed to just Michigan.

Toyota chairman: U.S. gov't may help GM
he points out the possibility of the US government helping GM, but that little b@$tard sure as hell didn't point out how his government likes to manipulate the currency rates to further screw everyone abroad, and be the crutch in the Japanese auto industry. The damn frickin press better add that into the article about this. yes FOG, the knife is in deep in corksrew fashion with a sweet smile on his face. That does it for me, kick toyota off our shore and let the chinese come in and take their market share.

Bob Lutz Notes + Production Camaro Decision Timefr
regfootball replied to a post in a topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)2 of last 13 years did camaro and FB combined top that 160k annual mark. only 2 of 13. and that's during many of the years mustang was unappealing. I honestly think Lutz meant 160,000 totalover like 3-4 years

Bob Lutz Notes + Production Camaro Decision Timefr
regfootball replied to a post in a topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)production stats they would sell 100,000 the first year and then it would decline to about 50k a year after the fourth or fifth year. 95 was the last year over 100k....incidentally that was about the time of the rise of the SUV and sport sedan craze. coupes have limited market appeal and RWD only also limits appeal in bad weather states. that said, that's what makes the car what it is. all i am saying is they need to figure out how to build it at much lower volumes than 100k and still make money. I still think any v8 camaro that hits the floor is 30 grand minimum. why torture yourself wating so long, just get a lightly used Corvette or GTo to tideyou over until this thing appears? i wouldn't wait for it, but when it does arrive then just go buy one. the fact that it would have make money at low volume says even more about how this thing will not be below 30 grand. 30 grand is a nice downpayment on a lightly used C6. what GM also needs to do is market a Pontiac coupe and sedan that is less mullet, on the same chassis, more BMW esque and sell that in addition to all their other cars.

Buick Enclave info
enclave doesn't have sliding doors. some folks won't buy SUV's and will only buy vans. plus, minivans have more space. MUCH more. rural / less poulated areas that don't have saturn dealerships, if they are not served by a Chevy dealer, but by a B-P-GMC dealer, may benefit from having a van available to sell vs the new dumpy ass looking fat chrysler vans.

Civic car of the year? Baloney!
regfootball replied to Angry Dad's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)$h!, i'm not ready for another 'this is why the civic sucks' crusade again. the civic is a mediocre car. if gas were still 1.75/ga it wouldn't even be on the list of consideration. if there were no hybrid, it wouldn't get a second look. I'm not sure if the solstice should have taken it either, but it definitely deserved it more than the Civic. The Ridgeline? Its a pure joke, but it also didn't have anything to compete against. If they are gonna pick an Asian car, than the IS350 or the Sonata would have made more sense. Wasn't the M45 new, too? the black cobalt interior on the coupe is about as nice as a well priced subcompact gets. the Mazda3's is pretty nice also. i cannot see any area where the Civic has a substantive advantage over its comptetition. Its already lost comparos to the mazda3 and prius, too. How can a LOSER car, yes LOSER CAR be considered COtY? lots of richard sucking and deep pocketbooks for bribery checks, that's how.

2006 NAIAS: Buick Enclave Concept
regfootball replied to Northstar's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)dude, there is NOTHING goofy about the exterior. the side view shot shows perfect proportioning. The sculpting of the hood is perfect. the chrome stripe on the bumper, the headlights and grille, and the ventiports, all awesome. this is one of the best looking crossovers ever. let's just hope they don't mistranslate the interior. ah, no brainer to trade the aztek for this. now i don't have to suffer with a minivan. room for 8 and storage AND style.
