For the second month in a row Motor Trend claims the 2014 Chevy Impala with be the first large or full size car equipped with a normally aspirated four cylinder engine. This is wrong on a number of levels. First, they are forgetting that the Buick Lacrosse on the same platform even, offered the 2.4 for 2010-2011. And yes, that is non-turbo, non-hybrid. Few takers, and it was discontinued when the Regal came around. If you want to go way back in the time machine, Chevy offered the old Iron Duke 4 banger in the Lumina, a similar sized, 6 passenger and yet not full size car about 20 years ago. If that doesn't count for you, the current Honda Accord qualifies as a large car by EPA standards, and it certainly offers four cylinder engines. Don't they have anyone there anymore who does fact checking or editing before publishing mistakes?

You know, this works for me. I see so many people driving with dogs on their laps, I WANT these people to have an accident and become one with their dog and airbag. If not in belts at least in the back seat. I have no problems with the fines, this is one of the big problems in our society, people will just write a check and continue to break the law. Can't pay it? Don't do it.

Why bother with all the camo? Just dress the car up with G8 sheetmetal and it will fool 99% of people..

VIN search is easier, but doesn't really extend back beyond about 1990. Without VIN can search for anything. I will check my catalogs tomorrow. My manager has been at the dealership for 36 years, when the books were replaced by computer he kept the newest ones for himself. We use them all the time. But they are his, when he goes, so do they...

Go talk to your local dealer. We have electronic parts catalogs back into the 1970's, and paper catalogs even further back for some things. There are also obsolescence and supersession catalogs. Once we have the numbers we can look into the national database and see if any dealers or warehouses still have the part in stock. There is also an obsolete parts warehouse for recently discontinued parts that GM wants to try and clear out.

I think a lot of the reason they aren't selling is the dealer network. If I bought one, to get any service done would require a 250 miles drive. One way. Not happening. Open a lot near me and we will talk.

No. In a word: CHUNKY. I am happy they tried. Lots of details, but it suffers like the Verona. Too tall for it's footprint. I am having a hard time wanting to buy anything from GM lately.
