Well its not over. The new rumor is next week April 3rd there will be more dumpings going on. So that means my department may be hit so I guess I'm in the running. Oh yay!

I'm on pins and needles. Its very tense around here. People are still trying to be positive but there is that air of cautiousness and fright around, not good! I hope I'm still here because I really don't have a game plan if they say 'see ya' to me personally. Wish me luck!

Don't forget either that the engine does not have "displacement on demand" anymore... its called Active Fuel Managment!! Where was this person when the Escalade was introduced?

That color reminds me of my Grandmas old Chevy Caprice. No thanks!
  5. I work here at GM and the rumors of "Black Tuesday" have been going around this whole week, but nobody is saying anything. Pretty tight lipped around here. It has me worried to say the least. Its sad when you don't know whats going on within your own company. Anybody know of any jobs?...'Gulp!!'
  6. Why don't they throw some salaried workers in the pot too. I work with a lot of salried guys who are itching to leave but no one has made them any offers yet. They are puzzled to say the least.
  7. I finally, finally got to drive an 06 GTO!!!! And I work at GM how sad is that?! Man I had a ball in this car! I was hoping they would keep the current car around a while longer. The one I drove was blue on blue with the factory body kit and exhaust. Damn did this thing sound nice. The guy that let me drive it said 'go ahead and rape the living sh!t out of it I don't care'. How cool is that, now if I could just come up with the money...hmmm.
  8. The rear seats in pratically every GM car throw you into the middle. They have horribly high angles on the very outside edge that makes you feel like your sitting on 45 degree angle when your in the window seat. Spacious yes, but comfortable, no.
  9. Thats Frickin' sweet!! Powder coat the brackets black or something I agree! Maybe their Technicians are like people who can only paint by numbers...or kids for that matter.
  10. Give them Hell Lori!! This magazine has become such a pile of crap. The only thing I would use it for is to start a fire when I go camping.

There are few fans because there are too few options, and in most cases no options. There is still the misconception that they are smoke blowing, oil dripping pieces of sh!t that are only in trucks. It can be done to switch the tide over, just start making them compliant with U.S. regulations. It doesn't hurt to have the EPA get off their asses with their diesel fuel circus either. I would love to have a car that has a ton of torque while still getting 30mpg.
  12. Ouch! Funny, I just got done reading this article here at work, on lunch. They dropped a bomb on this car, basically it has potential but they(GM) dropped the ball again is how the Lienerts' feel. I do agree that most of the options should be standard on this car with its price tag. GM needs to start putting all these extras as standard or else this topic will go on until the end of time. You know what I'm talking about...the Japanese have this or that as standard equipment why don't the domestics? I believe the pictures of the car in the paper are of the G6 'vert too. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong I'm sure.
  13. Escalade hands down!!!! No competition from the Navigator. I wish somebody would flush that ugly P.O.S. Navigator down the toilet!! I get that I'm almost gonna puke reaction everytime I see the Navigator. Cadillac stepped up bigtime and will knock down all comers!!
  14. GM needs to send reps in that work with the dealership network as civilians to see and experience firsthand how crappy some of these dealerships are and how bad they hindering sales overall in some cases. I can't tell you how many times I knew more about the product than the sales person did, answers like 'really I didn't know that' or 'I'll have to look into that'. Unreal!! GM needs to get a standard of excellence across the board that every dealership can be proud of and we the customer can appreciate too.
  15. There is support from the Prez but not a good enough support system. That being said not enough pumps! Dammit GM don't drop the ball again!

I completely disagree. The Camaro is much much further along than "some" people realize. If you look at the underpinnings on that car they are pretty damn close to production. The only thing not close is the interior, but that will change easily.

The rumor is ALL development of the Line 6 is done as of 07. Bye bye Traiblazer, Envoy, 9-7x, and Rainier.

Did the A.P. not get the memo of the production cutbacks on the Ridgeline, posted here on CheersandGears itself. Maybe they need to start coming here for their news! Good news for GM though.

Improve the radio stations already available to the public consumer and XM will go away. I am one of those people that can't see spending money on this. It seems like a waste to me. Or get an iPod like everyone else and download away, and you still won't need XM or Sirius.
  20. That doesn't mean much. I work at the Tech center and I see people driving Opels, Holdens, and Vauxhalls to work everyday. They may just be registering it like the brands I just mentioned for further studies or brand comparison...who knows. I wish though that they would bring the Vauxhall VXR Astra here, damn that car is sweet!! See... http://www.vauxhall.co.uk/vx/vxr/ontheroad/astra.do

Lutz already stated publicly that there will be no Firebird, only the Camaro.

Holy crap!! Lord Vader your vehicle awaits you!! I lost alot of interest in this car when the Gallardo came out but now my interest has been renewed. Now if I could just find my winning lotto ticket!
  23. Cast Iron blocks?!! This engine probably weighs as much as the new Solstice turbo engine! Magnesium and aluminum is the way to go. Tremendous weight savings and when done right as in this case, strenght to boot.

That car looks way way better in those pictures than in the press release photos. Impressive looking replacement for the 575.
  25. I think everybody read the link wrong that I posted. It says on the top right that this CAD/CAE work request is for 6.0 V8 DOHC!! I repeat thats a dual overhead cam engine LS9!! The S/C engine is still in play.
