Is 2009 the worst year ever for car design?
Does anyone else just look at cars and think "yep, that car was designed pretty much entirely with computer technology" instead of being hand-drawn or built from clay first?

Soy makes you Stupid
I agree. My girlfriend's vegetarian, so I've learned to like vegetarian dishes. Especially curry dishes with tofu. I can even bring myself to enjoy the occasional veggie burger or soy milk. Heh heh. Soy milk. I am milk. Funny thing is, I probably enjoy eating vegetables more than my vegetarian friends. Vegans, on the other hand, are assholes put on Earth to annoy the rest of us. A vegan diet can cause people to hallucinate, and I'm supposed to believe it is actually healthier? Right.

MetallicA: Death Magnetic (Few more updates)
So sex = death? Perhaps this album could double as the soundtrack of a horror movie. Or maybe conservative Christian propaganda.

What's in a name?
Enzora = Enzo (Ferrari) + Zora (Arkus-Duntov.) I wanted something a little more unique that referenced my love of cars without being too obvious about it.

MetallicA: Death Magnetic (Few more updates)
I'm listening to Cyanide via YouTube right now, and I'm already loving what Rob Trujillo brings to the table.

What Are You Listening To?
Opeth--Blackwater Park I bought this album a few years ago, but didn't listen to it very much, then lost it. I found it this weekend, and I'm giving it another try.

I am disgusted
No! Get out of town! :AH-HA_wink: But seriously, I hope the truck's fixed and back on the road ASAP.

The Global Warming Insanity Continues
How about we build a whole army of polluting robots, then have them fart at the same time in the same direction, thus moving earth's orbit farther from the sun, and allowing the planet to cool?

Detroit Iron & Chicks
This is where my mind immediately went. Transformers may not have had much of a plot, but it certainly had some stunning visuals.

Do You Still Have Your Legos?
Hah. I'm pretty sure I do. And some Tinker Toys somewhere as well.

weezer
Meh. I kept waiting for Charlie to murder them both by impaling them with his horn. What a letdown.

Do You Still Have Your Legos?
I used to have a kit for a giant lego Tyrannosaurus Rex. After I built it, I was so excited (I was probably 8 or 9 at the time) and tried to show my family. After he saw it, my older brother proceeded to kick it over, then step on it, completely ruining my work. Needless to say, I was pretty pissed off at him for a long time after that.

Better late than never, I suppose. Happy Birthday, FOG.

Celebrating college graduation/comtemplating what the hell I'm going to do with my life.

If this is any indication
These early riffs sound impressive, and I've heard Rick Rubin is making them spend a lot more time developing the songwriting, so I'm expecting good things from this album.

New Metallica album name!
I think the Loads have a few filler songs, but I find that to be the case whenever a band releases a two-disc album (which is what they were originally intended to be) and for the most part, they're good, diverse albums. Even when they were at their thrashy peak in the 80s, they had a much better range of styles than their peers, and that developed even more with the loads. "Low Man's Lyric" convinced me that if he wanted to, James Hetfield could easily make the transition to a bluesy country rock style, and kick ass at it.

New Metallica album name!
Ouch. Considering the ONLY album they've done since S&M was Stanger, I'd bet that the vast majority of Metallica fans would agree with you on that one. But it is a damn good album.

Books -1984 and others
I love philosophical literature, so I'm a big fan of science fiction. Yet I've never read 1984. I should really fix that soon.

Amazing dunk
There's a reason the slow-motion play usually follows the normal-speed one. Great play, terrible editing.

TGIF vs TBINS
I'm underloading for My last semester of college, so I only have three classes, all on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Testimony: Some in polygamist sect may have had kids at 13
I can agree that monogamy is not right for everyone, but the sort of relationship you're talking about isn't what most people even mean when they're talking about polygamy. When I think of polygamy, I think of men treating women not as equal partners in a relationship, but as objects to be owned and collected by men, which is pretty f@#ked up even before you realize that it often leads to people engaging in pedophilia.

LA Times' Dan Neil bumped from NBC Gear
Wow. I guess they had to change the name from Top Gear to just Gear; it would have been false advertising otherwise. He shares his name with a Toyota, and you expect him to be of redeeming value in a show about cars? Jay Leno is the only person in Hollywood who could possibly save this show. (and Seinfeld and Tim Allen together would just be annoying, for the record, so I'm not upset that didn't pan out.)

They have to be kidding ...
I was with my friends and a commercial for Speed Racer came on, and they had no idea what it was. They thought it was a video game adaptation. Now what really intrigues me is the new Get Smart adaptation, for answering a question I'm sure we've all asked at some point: Why haven't Steve Carell, Anne Hathaway and The Rock ever done a movie together?

We've all read O. C.'s "So my boyfriend is moving in ..." thread
Well, come to think of it, she did have a strange habit of trying to pick fleas from my hair. . . .
