"AMERICA IS ADDICTED TO OIL"
So, did he mention any actual plan to provide economic incentive so that automobile companies will actually do this?

Irritating slang
C'mon, Mr. Admin, you know the rules. No political speech in the lounge. :AH-HA_wink:

Which of the following Chevys have you...
I haven't personally owned any Chevies, but in my lifetime, my immediate family has owned three. When I was younger, my mom had a Caprice and my dad had a Silverado. The only one they currently have is the only one on your list anyway, a black 68 Camaro that my dad's trying to fix up.

What do these all have in common?
Sweden? Mexico? It's not really THAT odd. Break down the names of the countries on that list. Several of them end in "land" and many other countries have feminine names, which is often represented by the letter A.

Random Thoughts Crossing My Mind...
Hah, riiiiight. The '02 Hurricanes were really lucky to even get to the finals, since they went the whole playoffs with no offense. This team has a lot more firepower and a coach who actually seems to give a crap.

Random Thoughts Crossing My Mind...
I really hope this year ends up with a rematch of the '02 Stanley Cup.

I dare you to eat that!
I take offense to the implication that there's something gay about being fashionable. C'mon, Croc, let's go have some nice heterosexual fun and try on some cute outfits!

FJ40
There is a fine line between retro and caricature. This thing is about three miles behind that line.

Panoz Esperante GTLM
Meh, looks are subjective, and since the Miata is pretty much designed to be a purist's sports car, I could think of a lot worse design themes for an exotic to resemble. If you really want something to bitch about in a 90,000 dollar car, make it the cheap Ford switchgear. The Esperante is chock full of Ford goodies to keep production costs down.

Character...
I think a lot of it depends on how honest the uncle was being here in the transaction. Personally, if he were like several of my own uncles, I wouldn't even refer someone to him, for any reason. Being grateful for helping sell a car is a little different than paying someone to help him dump off a lemon on some unsuspecting fool. Of course, a 500 dollar car could probably be evidence towards the latter. Morality: Ain't it grand?

Man, those 90s B-Bodies really have a killer attitude in any body style, don't they?

I'm pregnant
Wasn't Saturn's kid Jupiter/Zeus/Jove? They're are cool names if you're into classics. Although, I'm pretty sure Jupiter killed Saturn, so you might want to try something else . . .

Are Japanese cars so great?
If A car's old enough to drive itself and has almost 250,000 miles on it, the only real requirement should be that it runs. Toyota dependability really isn't anything spectacular anymore. The entire market's too good. At this point, their main edge is better interior materials and smaller panel gaps, something any automaker could do if they made that much profit.

Hey, whatever happened to...
Has anyone else seen a Mark LT on the streets? I still haven't. Although, that's still almost makes as many Mark LTs I've seen as Blackwoods.

Are you looking for more of a party atmosphere or prettier beaches?

Chipotle Restaurants...?
[rant]Bah, I have a personal grudge against chain Mexican food that's been Americanized (see: watered-down.) In Dunn, there are two privately-owned Mexican restaurants beside each other, both owned by the same Mexican entrepreneur. The first one he opened was pretty standard fare Mexican food, but the second opened as a place for actual Latin American cuisine, a lot of which were old family recipes that his own mother used. Sadly, he was unable to make any money off of this, so he had to change to the cheaper menu, so now he has two restaurants with identical menus. People wouldn't go to it because it was "so much more expensive than the other place," completely oblivious to the fact that the quality of food there was much higher, and a bargain compared to the other nicer restaurants around the area. It was one of the few moments of actual culture that's ever entered into Dunn, but since that culture was Mexican, the idea was that it should be cheap. I still go there sometimes when I'm home, because the food's still good and the owner's a great guy, but I feel a little bit of sadness every time now. [/rant]

Cheap Grand Am for BV
I actually like the exterior. The kit's clean and the paint job's kind of cool. Too flashy for my tastes, but it's well done.

Hit & Run
15 mph collisions are still plenty to screw up someone's back, especially when there's a big size difference like there was here.

Return of the prodigal son
And another thing: With the release of the Enclave and Camaro concept, Bob Lutz, in one fell swoop, dispelled the myth that he is bad for GM design. (One that until recently, I also believed.) In a similarly abrupt turn of events in the design world, the Chrysler Imperial concept dispelled any belief that Trevor Creed and Co. over at Chrysler have any idea what the hell they're doing.

Return of the prodigal son
GM's still improving, Ford's still lost, Toyota's still the Anti-Christ. :AH-HA_wink: Uhhh, if you want any more details, just check out the NAIAS thread in the car show section. It's probably the best spot to find out about what's been going on.
