I've always loved the mesh grille the V-Series uses. The car looks fantastic.

A mission for all of C&G
Maybe we could use a portion of this year's calendar sales to start a "C&G Company Car" fund to rescue down-on-their-luck cars?

Hypothetically Speaking...
Have you considered a Taurus? Granted, they're not the most stylish sedans, but I was (and still am) able to find excellent deals on later-model, average mileage Tauruses. Before I bought my Intrigue, I was considering an '01 SES with 74K mi. for $4990. I suppose their resale values are so low because most of them are ex-rentals that Hertz doesn't want anymore.

How Do You Define Being An Enthusiast?
CMG and Delta make excellent points. My own addition: When you learn that your car just failed state inspection and has an oil leak, you pat the dashboard and whisper "It'll be ok, I'll get you fixed" while driving home from the service station.

There's a special feel...
Thanks y'all! Thanks for the heads-up. The Datsun had a quirky charm...but it just had to go. Prince George's County was ready to take us to court over it.

The Eyes Have It

There's a special feel...
...in an Oldsmobile! Allow me to introduce you to my first car, a 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue GLS. It's basically a loaded car, with, as you can see, leather, Bose Sound, sunroof, auto climate control, and the Autobahn package as major options. It set me back $3718, though the Blue Book suggested value for it was around $5000. For the most part, it's mechanically sound, impressive at 112,416 miles, and the general concensus among my friends is that it's a sexy beast. It has a bad front hub assembly, which will need replacing soon. The leather on the driver seat is torn in one spot, and there's another tear towards the middle of the rear bench. The plastic covering for the treble/bass knob on the radio is broken, but if I pinch it hard enough, it's still functional. Otherwise, it's in great shape. It recently passed Pennsylvania state inspection and emisssions testing, both of which are much more stringent than the comparable test in Maryland, so I'm pretty assured. The 3800 is a gem, I must say. Satisfying exhaust note with plenty of power, all while delivering good fuel economy. Since I bought it, I drove it home from Harrisburg (~132 miles), from home to Bowie and back (~42 miles), and about the city of Laurel (~8 miles), and the gas gauge just began to nuzzle the 3/4 full mark. I'm very pleased with the car...here's to many more happy miles with it.

New Chevrolet Malibu Careens Out of Gate
I saw my first one the other day, a Jewel red 2LT. I saw it while passing by the local Dollar rent-a-car, which is beginning to look like a Chrysler-Dodge dealer's lot. (relax, the Malibu wasn't a rental...it had temp tags and a window sticker that said "Choose Civility in Howard County").

Financial Question
I don't really know much about loans (except for variable rate ones seem to be a very bad idea right now), but from this point on, any penny you make/find/receive should be put into a bank account and not touched. I always made sure I had a couple of dollars in my wallet, but I put every paycheck I earned right into my bank account for the sole purpose of using it to buy a car, or if an emergency arose. It worked well for me, seeing as how I bought my first car on Friday with that money. Just my :twocents:. Good luck!

Lexus LS600h takes last place in Motor Trend comparo
I have to admit, the LS600 has very nice rear accomodations. It's dead comfortable, and the controls for the seat/climate system were easy to pick up. But that wouldn't make me choose it over the Quattroporte...it's unholy how good that car looks. I wonder how the A8 would've ranked in this...that would be my second choice in this segment.

Earth-shattering Chrysler info
Stupidity written all over it. The Chrysler brand would never be able to move upmarket if it had to be saddled with selling the budget models too. Please reconsider this plan, for the sake of your company.
