2008 Avalon at the Georgian College Autoshow
Someone in my neighborhood bought a silver XL (I think that's what it's called). I didn't recognize it at first, I thought it was some sort of JDM Corolla for a second. It's an improvement, but I still wouldn't call it pretty.

Pontiac G8 to start at $27,595 | Ordering Guide
The pricing structure seems good. I would be happy with just a G8 3.6L, but with the GT starting out at not much more, it would be tough for me to choose.

Updated Pontiac G8 page
I'd be extremely happy with the G8 3.6L I just built (Stealth Blue/Onyx leather, Premium Package, Comfort & Sound Package, Sunroof).

Malibu Ad in Car & Driver
Wow, that one's a ballsy departure from GM's usual stock of nondescript ad spots. I like it.

Car you've rented most often?
The first rental car I ever remember us getting was a green mid-90s Grand Am GT sedan when my mom's Celebrity was totaled by a drunk. That one was later swapped for a white Neon sedan until we bought our '87 Ram Van. The more-recent rentals: -red '99 Mercury Sable LS, we rented this after trading-in our return-trip train tickets from Niagara Falls, ON. Drove from Ontario back to Laurel, kinda fun. -green '02 Explorer XLT 4.0L, rented to drive up through New England to Bar Harbor, ME one summer; was an upgrade from a minivan -flat-red (a barf-tastic color) '05 Impala base sedan, for when the Venture was getting some warranty work done -Magnesium '06 Grand Caravan SXT w/Stow 'n Go, when we visited my sister in Charleston 2 summers ago -black '06 Mazda6 i 2.3L, for when the Sonoma was in the shop after Carmax tried to kill it -tan '06 Taurus SE, for when the black 6 was getting an oil change -Lapis Blue '06 Mazda6 s V6, for when the Venture didn't want to cooperate Edit: I forgot about the other Grand Caravan we rented while the Venture was getting a new windshield. So, the Mazda6 and Grand Caravan are tied at two apiece.

Great CTS ads on OnDemand
The ad with the chick is IMO the best ad spot that any GM division's had in quite a while. The "turn you on" line was great, but what I liked best was the complete absence of any special lease/financing packages or incentives. Bravo!

Front license plates
1 more reason why I like PA and DE: no front-mounted license plates. I absolutely loathe them.

First Look: 2008 Chrysler 300
I don't like the new plood...it looks terribly cheap.

SPY SHOTS! 2009/10 Opel Insignia (Vectra)
What a good-looking interior! Cockpit-style ftw.

Maryland court upholds same-sex marriage ban
I feel so proud to be a Marylander: my state's high court ruled in favor of the state's "legitimate interest in promoting opposite-sex marriages" (whatever the hell that means), and a whacko in the General Assembly is preparing a blatantly discriminatory bill.

MB F700 concept
That 1.8L engine sounds like a technological marvel...shame it's wrapped in something so ugly.

CONCEPT: BMW X6 & X6 Hybrid
Gross. BMW has really gone off on an unappealing styling tangent lately, IMO.

FIRST GLIMPSE! 2009 Chevrolet Traverse
The Traverse should be a minivan.

My Driveway + 1, Part 2
Nice Cutlass, BV. It looks like it even came with it's own library!

FRANKFURT: 2008 Mazda6
The tail lights remind me a bit of those from the G6, but quite attractive otherwise.

$8000 Rebate on Tundra
Strange, I thought the FJ's proving to be Toyota's weakest product.

One final questions for the night
What I really think would make a greater difference for GM are TV-spots that are do more than just describe lease examples. But in terms of vehicles, I'd go with the '08 Malibu (the Astra and Lambdas tie for a really close 2nd).

What is missing from the market?
-Ute. More specifically, Crewman -Compact, sexy, affordable RWD sedans/coupes -Inline-6 engines
-
my old and new ute
Y'know...if the Ute ever comes to the US, I'd have a hard time chosing between Ignition, Redhot, and Morpheus. I really do like that purple. Very nice ride, sir.
