Has the phase out of Oldsmobile changed your views of GM
I miss Olds. They were my favorite GM brand for a long time. I was very sad to see GM's innovator sent to the guillotine, and I still am. I told myself back in 1999 that a metallic red/green 2-door V6 Alero would be my first new car. Well...needless to say, that won't ever happen. And what hurt me a lot was seeing how GM put ads up on the Olds site that pushed the (then, 2004) new Malibu on me instead of my Alero coupe. To this day, I wonder how quickly the decision to axe the brand was made by management, and how easy it was for them to do. But, it makes no sense to dwell on the past. Like Z said, it made me feel better knowing that Olds went down fighting with what was arguably its best line-up to-date. Plymouth died with a rebadged Neon, Caravan, and Stratus.

Horseshoe Falls is so nice...I loved going to Niagara Falls. First venture out of the US, too.

Market Watch! GM's Incentives Drop - Japan's Shoot Up
Wow...I want you with me when I go to buy my car... Anyways, good for GM. It's slow progress, but it's progress nonetheless.

Spied: BMW Z9
Leftlane News also has this on their page, if that makes it any more valid. I'm interested in this one. Even if it turns out to be a Z4-successor, I want to see how Bangled it'll be.

New Year Car Spotting
I saw the tail-end of a Navy blue Acadia speeding up I-95 a little ways before my exit. Looked good!

Little towns or quiet hideaways you escape to?
My sister's place in Summerville, SC. Very nice (reasonably inexpensive, too) and it's a ~10-15 minute drive SE into Charleston. My cousins' place in Summerdale, PA would qualify if I-81 didn't run right in front of their front yard. Edit: I forgot our vacation to Bar Harbor, ME a few summers ago. Haven't been there since, but that was the quietest place I've ever been to. Nice scenery, too.

Gas prices?
$2.19 at the Shell. Not that I have to pay for it yet, though...

3-door BMW 1-Series
It's not bad, but I like the Astra better. I bet this one's interior's just as boring as the rest of the BMW lineup.

Steve is Approaching Week 2 Without His Breeze!
I know your pain, dude. I spent 4.5 weeks during the summer without the Sonoma...but it doesn't sound like the hell we went through with Carmax to get them to fix what their employee broke while he was fixing another problem. Hang in there.

I dunno why, but the '49 Ford helped save FMC.

Pictures!
You're pretty tall for a 13 year old, Charger. All of my brother's friends are midgets...I swear, only 2 of them are taller than 5'5"

Leadership After Lutz
Forster appears to have good credentials, but I'm sad to hear that Lutz won't be around much longer.

I'm In love. After you click the link, you will be too!
These aren't the best photos, but it appears that the Sport model will be the best-looking variant. I think I'll stay with the 3-Series, CTS, or A4...Mercedes' recent designs leave something to be desired, IMO. I wonder how the AMG version will look. Edit: I just noticed how the seats look almost the same as the ones in my mom's Venture, only with firmer side bolsters.

Winter Storm
It was 72 degrees when ABC 7 said we'd see around an inch of snow. Western MD's seen some accumulation, but everywhere east of Hagerstown's been untouched so far. The temps are supposed to take a nosedive after today (64°), bottoming out at 36° on Wednesday. It's been a warm winter so far, and I can't complain.
