One of the scarier things I've ever seen...
That's Buickman? I pictured him differently...older, grayer, and more crotchety-looking. He almost looks friendly there.

Preview: Volvo XC60
DetroitNut90 replied to Variance's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)The basic design has potential. With a few cosmetic mods and cleanup, it could really be something.

SubLime Charger Daytona
It's alright, I guess. SubLime was one of my favorite high-impact colors, but I like the Charger better in the regular production Inferno Red Pearl better. The rims are nice, though.

1994 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi Supercharged
YJ-not if I beat you there. $900 Canadian's only $781.70 US... Seriously, I think this is one of the best deals you've found so far. I'd seriously consider this. Those Bonnevilles were very easy on the eyes, and I imagine the supercharged V6 sounds good to the ears.

Spied: Dodge Avenger (non-R/T)
The Chronos is a looker, but that 300C 'vert...amazing. Chrysler had some of the best-looking cars through the 90s (LHS, 300M, NS minivans, Prowler, assortments of concepts)...what happened to that?

Mitsubishi Introduces 2008 Lancer
DetroitNut90 replied to Variance's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)I know what you mean... Anyway, I'm not quite sold on it. Sure, the GTS isn't terrible (it's actually ok for the tuner variant), but I was kind of hoping for something more...I dunno, just something better than this. That said...this thing wipes the floor with it's Chrysler platform mate.

Spied: Dodge Avenger (non-R/T)
Every new model DCX comes out with just gets uglier, cheaper, and sadder...this is no exception. I hope at least the new vans are spared.

The most honest car dealer commercial ever
I know what you mean...reminds me of the guy on the commercials on WBAL 11 advertising for random dealers.

Your new favorite song
Off the top of my head: Hanging By a Moment--Lifehouse Disease--Matchbox 20 Just about any song from The Killers Round & Round--Ratt Armageddon It--Def Leppard You Give Love A Bad Name--Bon Jovi I recently discovered the 80s...the cars might not have been spectacular, but there definitely was some good music.

Lutz Responds to GM Minivan Debacle
I don't think that the U-bodies never caught up to Chrysler's vans because of dimensions (they're really not that far apart). I think it was because they weren't the best product out there, and also because they didn't offer anything different than what the competition already had. That said, purpose-wise, they are great. They live up to what's expected in a minivan (flexibility and good fuel economy). Edit: and the Windstar never sold that great because Ford only started to offer dual sliding doors in 1999. The '99 Windstar was probably the best-looking minivan available at the time, but they let it wither away in typical Ford fashion (Lincoln LS, or just Lincoln in general).

Hypothetical
Hmm...I'd take this list: -'70 El Camino SS 454 -'59 El Camino 348 -'68 Eldorado 472 Coupe -'71 Olds 442 W30 'vert -'59 Impala 'vert -'57 Chrysler 300C -'05/'06 GTO 6.0 -'96 Impala SS ...and sleep on it. I can't make up my mind just yet, although I'm leaning slightly more towards the Eldo.

Saturn Astra to Launch in Late-07
I would definitely consider a metallic red or green 3-door with the panoramic windshield, leather seats, and the 6-speed.

Taking a step
Sounds good! I spec'd one out myself...that's a lot of money for only 2 doors, but I'm sure it'll be worth every penny.
