Holy Grail GMC
I don't know if I'd call that rear clip "perfect" - there does look to be some metal cancer around the wheel opening. Still, if the guy buying it is skilled enough to splice together two GMC Sprints, he's good enough to put in a patch panel or two. A period-correct transmission should be a relatively easy find. I'd say it's fairly spot on, though I'd do what I could to shave 500-1000 off the price during negotiations. You can't get anything from the late 60s/early 70s for that price, regardless of condition. Probably a stupid question but are these much rarer than their El Camino SS 454 counterparts?

HHR Tops JD Powers Quality
VW updated the Beetle, keeping the same basic "retro" shape and made it better looking in the process. Surely GM could do the same with the HHR if it wanted to.

Autoblog: Battle Of The Eco Compact Cars
The Civic couldn't look any worse in that photo if they showed its nose after it rear-ended a semi.

Rage... is it ever justifiable?
I make it a habit of reporting idiots on crotch rockets. Guys like that deserve to have their bikes sold at a police auction for $500 while they're stuck doing community service waiting for the DMV to give them back their license.

You like the 500 too? It's an interesting little bugger, with a face only a mother could love. I'd be interested in giving a 500 Sport a test drive.

Nude model or groping victim?
While TSA is busy groping seven year old kids and making incontinent seniors remove their diapers, they're letting stuff like this happen: I think it's time we disband TSA and start profiling airline customers, a la Israel. I'm not exactly looking forward to having to be at an airport two and a half hours early just because I want to bring my bike with me on vacation this fall.

I agree, and it's also quite useful for something its size.

Compacts Are Rising While Hybrids Fall
Most sane people vote with their wallets. Considering the amount of time it takes to break even on a hybrid, this news isn't entirely surprising. The technology needs to be more affordable for it to make economic sense.

The heat is on
Hot and sticky isn't really my thing, but I'll take this over cold and snow any day. There's a house in the southwest somewhere calling my name.

Buick Regal GS Gets Rated
So the W-bod GS and the Epsilon GS are a wash from a performance standpoint. I'll bet, thanks to the lighter engine and far superior chassis, the Epsilon GS is a much more balanced, tighter feeling, crisper handling car despite the added pork.

Thanks, Dad
I'm sure we all could think of at least one thing we picked up on from our fathers growing up. List 'em here in honor of father's day. For me, one cool thing my dad taught me was to never skimp on quality when it comes to tools. A good, well made tool will always get the job done, and is worth its weight in gold.

Ideal Cadillac Lineup
I'd go with a lineup similar to SMKs, though I'd probably use some different hardware. For the Escalade, I'd put it on LWB Zeta. I think a blinged out Art & Science version of the Denali XT would make a fine Escalade.

A Turbocharged V8 For The C7?
Even the most stubborn import humpers do respect the small block, otherwise people wouldn't be stuffing an LS1 into a , , or a .Hey,there's an aftermarket outfit that sells LS1 conversion kits for E36 BMWs. Apaprently it's a popular thing to do. The HEMI and Viper V10 are OHV too. Just saying. No, I don't think the DOHC motor would make the Corvette any better, but again, I don't see the harm in offering it as an option. Keep the traditional Corvette buyers happy AND add some new ones.

A Turbocharged V8 For The C7?
As long as they still offer the small block V8, I think it could be a good thing. A smaller, high-strung low-displacement V8 would certainly give the Corvette a different personality than its LS-based siblings. The car would pretty much be a street legal Indy car with a Corvette body, especially if GM does end up putting the car on a crash diet. And it would be a modern interpretation of the original ZR-1 with the high-revving LT-1 350.
