All of these are, of course, round trips, otherwise I wouldn't be on Long Island right now 1 x LGA to ORL w/ change at BNA 2 x JFK to ORL 1 x ISP to ORL 3 x JFK to LAX 1 x JFK to SAN 1 x JFK to PHX I could have taken a biplane ride out of Palomar Airport (Carlsad, CA) in which I'd have gotten to do some of the flying, but I chickened out at the last minute.
  3. I'd rank my preferences in this order: 1. Chrome wheels w/ whiteys 2. Impala SS style wheels w/ Caddy centers 3. As is. Have you thought about the idea of just getting a set of whitewalls for your wheels? As far as cost effectiveness goes, I think that's second only to leaving everything alone. Plus, I don't think there's anything wrong with your wheels. Aesthetically, they "fit" the car.

BV: try calling the local junkyards for prices on a good running low-mileage Quad 4. Some of the more reputable yards may even offer a short warranty on it. I guess the next step would be to get the car and the engine in a shop where you can do the swap. Alternatively, you could look for a master rebuild kit for the Quad 4 you have now, and have your dad overhaul it in his garage. It should include all the gaskets, seals, rings, bearings, etc. Obviously you'd still need to pull the engine. From when I was looking a while back, the rebuild kit cost almost the same as a used engine from the junkyards. I think the swap would probably be easier, but you're taking a chance on an unknown quantity. By tearing apart your engine you'd be able to see how the internals look, and replace whatever doesn't look right. Good luck, either way. I hope you get back on the road soon enough.

Only 4 more weeks 'till pitchers and catchers report. Woohoo!!

You'll appreciate them when the first rock hits them :AH-HA_wink: It doesn't look like they make anything for the G6. Maybe the Malibu mirror heads will mount to the G6? Just guessing.
  7. If you look at the LaCrosse, and then the Enclave (which is everything a Buick *should* be, stylistically speaking) then you can definitely see the Lucerne as a vehicle that shows a company in transition. It's quality and style are both much better than the LaCrosse, but way inferior to the Enclave. For the record, I love the Lucerne and wouldn't mind having one in my fleet someday.

Chevy did the Cobalt right....giving it instant street cred via a kickass racing program. I think it's pretty safe to say that the Cobalt name isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Happy birthday NOS. For your present I give you some stock Camaro taillights, and an extra white 'I' to stick on your engine cover.

Save your pennies and wait for NYIAS. I'm sure the Camaro will be there, and it's less of a haul for you.

A rather interesting observation: most of the middle aged people I've shown the Camaro too are rather indifferent to it. They're head over heels for the Mustang and Challenger, but the Camaro "isn't as good" because the it doesn't look as much like a '69 Camaro as the Mustang does a '68 Mustang or the Challenger does a '70 Challenger. Yet people in my age bracket are for the most part head over heels for it.

Whoa...nice B). The NYS troopers have a few of these, as well as the 93-97s. On the state parkways they'll have seat belt/registration/inspection spot checks, and they'll have the Camaro sitting in the bushes just in case someone makes a break for it. Pretty effective deterrent if you ask me. Does Florida still have the super trooper Corvettes?

Bob, you're rough. Especially since our Seattlites are some of the most colorful people on the board. Now, if you were talking about the Seattle sky being monochromatic, that's a different story.
  14. Very nice ride. Don't worry about that LT1. My dad tore one down two weeks ago with 140K from a police cruiser, and the cylinder walls and rings looked like new. Lots of look with it. your new sig should read "Lots of white, and a little bit of medium marblehead metallic"
  15. It could also be the Outlook. I remember AH-HA saying that this year's autoshow circuit will be all about the Lambdas and the GMT900s.

The Vette has it...has for much of my 27 year existence. Though I don't know if the C6 has a clear roof panel available, or just the body colored. Unless you mean power targa roof....
  17. Again, Olds did it first B) In the late 90s Olds ran a commercial saying how the Bravada is like a dominatrix, with its Smartrack it's able to dominate all types of pavement. I wish I could find it, it was one of the best GM ads of that era, if not the best.
  18. IIRC, he said there were sketches, not the actual car.
  19. ....while they were designing the Camaro concept.
  20. Unfortunately (or, perhaps, fortunately for them), I don't see a means to add a comment, or I would have added a rather lengthy response already.
  21. I had to revive this thread, after my friend sent me this over IM: A Peter Griffin Christmas
  22. There should be an option for "Sh*t yeah!!!!!!" My Blazer had one, and I'll definitely get another one again. Used C5 'verts are on my radar. I had intended on waiting 'till the Cobalt is paid off, but if one for the right price comes along and I can find a garage for it, I just might get it. In the Camaro and most other cars, I'd do everything in my power to get the V8 if its offered as an option. If its out of my reach, I'd fall back to the V6 as long as the car wasn't a slug, or if GM offered over-the-counter performance upgrades for it.

Good for you Mustang. These four-leggers need us, and we owe it to them to give them whatever we need, given how much they give us in return.

What pains me about not having a Mini most is that GM was so close to having a Mini killer:

Not so much the styling or the FWD, but something that drives and handles like it, in a tidy little package. Hopefully the rumors about a Hummer competitor are true.
