wellllllllll ive been searching for a daily driver for a while, so i can take the nova off the road to work on it. While i was searching for a `cheap,6 banger daily driver, i found a BOF, RWD, V8 toy that i just couldnt pass up. It looks like BV's beast, only it actually moves under its own power while most G-Bodys locally are rotted by now, this one has escaped the ravages of time. i went to go look at it yesterday, gave the guy a deposit and i pick it up on sunday i cant wait! heres the info from the craigslist Ad, until i get some pics of my own... i can tell you, it looks even better then the pics! Interior looks even better then the pictures show the only rust on the whole car is two small spots on the back bumper, and my parts guy i bought most of my Nova Parts from said it wouldnt cost more then $100... i probably could have found a cheaper beater that would have gotten better mileage, but i could not resist a car this clean. sunday cant come soon enough.. i cant wait to get it home!!!!!

i stated in another thread i read a book called the "CAR THAT COULD" about the EV1 program, and volt saga, more importantly the battery issue, seems eerily similair to the EV1 program..

i went to the library yesterday and picked up CALL ME ROGER... im already 150 pages in... it basically a long story about how much of a douche bag ROGER SMITH actually was...

Lately i've rediscovered the joys of the library, and naturally the GM related books spark my interest... on recommendation from a friend, i took out SLOAN RULES, a biography of the wonderful ALFRED P SLOAN, and discusses how much of a business genius he was, and his transformation of Billy Durants shaky holding company into one of the quintessetial American companies.... The second book, which i just finished, is called THE CAR THAT COULD... now this book is written more like a novel then the nonfiction it is. It documents the EV1 program from its beginnings with Roger Smith's plan for the future to the release a few years later... the book is filled with twists and turns and shows every road block along the way, and how the engineers created a ground up car with new technology faster then a conventional car came to market. Whats more eye opening, is how much consideration and development went to Electric vehicles by all automakers in the 90s, until the mandate that required them was overturned.... reading the book was bittersweet though, since it was written and published immediatley after the EV1 started production, it invokes so much hope for the program while looking back, it didnt get what it deserved... Anybody read either book? or have any GM related books i might be able to find at the library tomorrow? this reading thing aint so bad!

ughhh unfortuanatly, the grandma car ive been watching may have sold.... its a 1980 4 door malibu, with a 3.8 liter, a 3 speed auto and 2. something rears in the gear... since the guy claims he gets 20mpg Highway, i thought itd make an amazing daily driver..... guy wanted $1k, then $800, then $675, then $450... ive been calling him, but the ad is off of craigslist, and i passed by his block, and the car no longer sits in front of his house i was hoping to daily drive the hell out of it, then drop a whole turbo buick drivetrain in
