ill tell you the answer your looking for.... none... ive never left the states yet... im not claiming to have driven euro cars.. what im saying is, while handling makes a car fun (i LOVE wringing a car out in the twisties) horsepower (or better yet, torque) make a car fun as well

exactly.. perfect platform utilization that could instantly revive the brand.. using current platforms, engines, and parts, all it takes is the right leadership. make the brand stand out... dynamic in your face styling, availability of a stick across the board, suspensions all tuned towards performance, some turbo 4 bangers, hi po V6s and some V8s available, hell, if you wanna dream, maybe the XWD setup from the saabs can make a future alpha into a real WRX competitor ,,, seriously, get the right leadership and this CAN happen with ease..right now, Pontiac IS overlap.... as said before, nothing any other division either doesnt already have, or can absorb easily... why not change that? utilize some parts bin fun, mix in some creativity and see what happens theyve blown countless billions on Saturn, without much return... try a real revitalization of pontiac.. its been good to you GM...

get the job done doesn't mean enjoyable.. yes i understand handling is fantastic, but straight line quarter mile acceleration is also a very important aspect of a "fun" car

in theory a car with 60 hp can push a car around, even at highway speeds, somewhat efficiently... but when your totally underpowered against your competition and your own sister car, ya might need an upgrade...

but with platforms/products ALREADY in GM's stable or under development, you can make a kick ass division that can capture todays young AND young at heart... it could easily have a relevant place in the market

besides classic iron, theres plenty of 04-06 Goats, and 4th gen Fbodys that could make awesome daily drivers.... id really love a G8 ST as my one new car purchase though

i dont understand all this "bring oldsmobile back" stuff... how are you gonna totally resurrect a brand name and just swap it with an existing brand..... lets bring back plymouth! and edsel! hell, there where people who liked oakland, lets bring it back to! throw in studebaker and we're set!

we need to embrace ethanol with full force... its our only hope in really having an effect on OPEC....itd be nice for some money to actually stay here then to be carried away to the middle east

while you guys seem to look to other companies that may get your attention in the absence of pontiac.... besides a new camaro (too heavy for my tastes) or a vette (too pricey) theres not much that interests me.. i dont see why i need a new car at all... when in my life do i need to buy a new car that i dont like (because its obvious the automakers dotn want to make what i desire) when i can buy a fun car thats never gonna happen again... ive said it before... ill have no reason to go to a dealer, im sticking with used cars for the future...

most of the people I know that own pontiacs, new OR old, are under 30... and these are the same people that bought GTOs and are looking at G8s...
