2 Solstices last time at a dealer. One sold, with plates and ready to go, other in showroom. If I remember correctly one is blue and the other is silver.

My guess what happened there, is that they took the model from NFSU2, then reduced the polys on the not so visible parts. They're cop cars so they will appear in masses. Lower poly will make it run faster.

Well given the high cost of an LCD monitor, even if they really have gone down these days, they're still a bit expensive (at least in my terms). And the panel is functioning, repairing it does make sense, if you can find the the correct inverter for it.

Solstice and Corvette are low volume. Shouldn't they just not make it? Same idea. It's like GM shouldn't be thinking like if the market is small, not making would be the way to go. It's things like this that show more differentiation. If Pontiac is sporty and fun, add options that mean sporty and fun. In the case of the G6, it would make sense to at least make the automatic as a delete option. Otherwise, it would be in the situation like the current situation, the G6 is not more than a shinier Malibu. A small market is still a market. You can't just assume that it doesn't exist. That was GM' thinking, and look what happened to the Camaro: sales lost to Ford.

That's because they chose the wrong brand to experiment. Saturn back then was supposed to compete against in the family bread and butter market to some extent, not the "excitement" division where Pontiac is.

I've only replaced the one in my old Thinkpad. Not sure about desktop LCD monitors. It's probably doable, but the problem is locating the correct part. It was easy for my laptop because I could just order the correct FRU for the part from IBM. But LCD screens, I'm not sure.

Well to me 4-cylinder with a 5-speed makes so much sense. A base model with an automatic sounds wierd, especially if Pontiac's focus is "driving excitement" and "action".

I think I've gone over this in the old forums as well, but I was inspired the other day by talking to a dealer. The sales guy told me that you can order a 5-speed stick on the 3.5L V6. I was scratching my head for a moment there, but of course it turned out that the guy just wasn't listening in class... But makes me wonder: Is it a technical difficulty that they can't slap the stick shift on the base models? Can't they even at least put the Getrag 5-speed?

I guess if we really want to see it, we might have to wait for Autolie's "exclusive shots". Let someone else do the (illegal) stuff, and we'll just watch the show.
