  1. This is an interesting take on your project idea: http://www.classicresto.com/www.classicresto.com/mambo/content/view/96/43/index.html
  2. Day 5 - Power restored! Certainly makes you appreciate some of the basic amenities in life. I'm much luckier than about 300,000 other people who still don't have their power restored yet...
  3. Day 4 - no power. The major electric utility leadership has lots of excuses, but not much in the way of results to show. 50% of the state still without power. Their ETA is "Sunday at 11:59 PM". I'm getting a generator and wiring it into the house when this is over!
  4. No power - day 3...now this is getting old. It's like camping in your own house...
  5. No power - day 2. Thankfully my employer has power, so going into the office is a great way to get heat, electrical changing and a hot shower...they opened the fitness center to all employees. Not a great situation, but all in all this could be a lot worse.
  6. Lost power again last night after midnight. Much of CT has no power. They're talking several days before power gets restored. The tools of today were a 4x4 pickup, a snow blower and a chain saw. I'm tired. I'm hoping power doesn't take this long. Happy I have a laptop and a Mi-Fi card!
  7. Lost power...thankfully was only for about an hour...someone from CL&P must live in my town...that was super quick restoration of service!
  8. Happy Halloween...
  9. 6-12in of heavy/wet snow forecast for CT. I need to get my snowblower moved from the shed to the garage. This sucks!

  12. As a current BMW 3-Series owner (who purchased it new), my reaction is: meh.
  13. Did you talk to these guys? LINK
  14. Disappointing it's an automatic... eBay shows the vehicle history check as follow: Event date Location Odometer reading Data Source Details 03/06/2009 NEWNAN, GA Motor Vehicle Dept. 15. I'm not looking to buy it, just found it interesting. Kept driving by it and finally stopped yesterday to snap a few pics.
  16. Maybe I've seen "Stripes" too many times.
  17. What about transplanting the motor from the ROPOS truck into the Tahoe? Aren't they the same vintage?
  18. Nice..low miles, probably would clean up nicely. Odd that the seller is looking to trade for a very rare Pontiac show car..seems implausible. He's probably thinking of a Yamaha Banshee...
  19. So what would the plan be if this was the parts donor?
  20. Congrats! The FAA written isn't that bad if you use something like the Gleim test prep software. Even the practical test was easier than I expected...it's also amazing the stuff you'll know that you won't *think* you'll know if they throw curves balls at you. I can only speak to the process for Airplane single-engine land, but it's totally worth it when you're done! I just spent 2+ years part-time while working full-time and dealing with family issues to get my PPL. Full-time is the way to go if you can swing it financially.
