Wow! That website has some beautiful color photos of Buicks! Thank you for sharing the URL.
  3. FUTURE OF GM: I wanted to be sure to add my happy birthday greetings to you because I enjoy reading your posts, which show a lot of common sense and passion for General Motors.
  4. That Seville? Meh, an OldsmoCapricillac!
  5. Pontiac_Custom-S: That color of Cadillac goes with your eyes < flirt >.
  6. Much happiness to you! Does Heather like the VW? Is she allowed to drive it?

  8. General Motors is marking its 100th anniversary as a corporation this year. (On September 15th, Automotive News will publish a special issue in commemoration. According to AN, "This historical issue will cover the past one hundred years of GM, with a look toward the next century. It will chronicle the people and products that fueled a century of innovation, performance, and style." Let's see... when telling that history of GM and the brands that made it into a giant, the names Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Oldsmobile, and Pontiac are at the very top in importance. How ironic for GM to be contemplating getting rid of another of their iconic brands when they should, instead, be recognizing and celebrating their history.

  12. I believe that Pontiac_Custom-S predicted that the G8 would last 2 years max, to get it while one can.
  13. Are they giving it to another brand or merely taking it away from Pontiac? Also, to anyone's knowledge, if the sales channel is Buick-Pontiac-GMC (B-P-G), why have recent TV commercials shown the Buick logo, then the GMC logo, then the Pontiac logo... seemingly out of order? Is that just a coincidence, or does it visually look better in that order, or is that a deliberate part of the plan to edge Pontiac out of the picture and replace it with the Saturn logo? I'm not trying to discuss minutiae, but it was enough for me to notice.
  14. Jim Henry has written an article, "Which Auto Brands Should Go?," for Business Week. He admits that it's hard to choose. To read the piece, click here. I'm happy that he says, referring to Buick-Pontiac-GMC (B-P-G), that Buick is in the strongest position globally.

  17. the griffon: Yes, those are the two I've been trying to describe. Thank you for capturing those screen shots! Does anyone give any importance to these two designs in terms of future Buick vehicles?
  18. Pontiac_Custom-S: Thank you! (I didn't say that too loudly, did I?) In fact, from 3:07-3:10, there is another 2-door design, the "blocky" Volt-like one I'm talking about, the same vehicle seen at :07-:08. (On the board, this one is tacked up to the left; the one that Pontiac_Custom-S observed, which to my eyes is a more aerodynamic-looking one, is to the right.) So there are at least two designs of interest to Buick fans.

  21. The website carscoop.blogspot.com recently featured a video of the designers of the Buick Invicta concept car talking about the project. At :07-:08 into the video, there is a scene with two women standing near some art boards. What is the vehicle on the board to the very right? It almost looks like a two-door (?) Buick "Volt," with a high, blocky back. To see the video (and, hopefully, to give your opinion as to what that vehicle on the board is), click here.
  22. That's good news for all of us! Thank you, the griffon, for that perspective.

  24. Yes, you're right. Euro 9 billion. But I'm surprised neither of you guys said anything about "20 new models" ( ! ).
