2008 H2 interior revamp
They should have put a different steering than the corporate one. But a good improvement overall.

Some closure on W bodies
Hitler from Slovakia. Kidding, but you are right. Get one GOOD RWD and get rid of those W bodies. As an owner of a 1998 Lumina, I will not regret this platform being dead. As much I love the car, I just cannot see how they persisted with the platform for 20 odd years.

That thing is hideous. No orginality. I think it does not look like what is shown on ABC.

DAKAR RALLY: Team Dakar USA's HUMMER H3 wins 8th overall
Tatras are amazing trucks. What I love about them is the ruggedness and yet simple mechanism of go anywhere capabilities. We should have those here. But good to know about Hummer. To all those European snobs, let them know when GM decides to get it right it gets it right. Now I wish GM captures F1 :AH-HA_wink: (Bring in Michael Schumacher as their team boss) and let Opel or as a matter of fact Caddy to play. It will help them build their image.

2008 SATURN ASTRA PREVIEW
It is the perception and perhaps an excuse of the car makers to not bring genuine hatches in the states.

The Death of Saturn
Absolutely. According to Peter Drucker (Father of Modern Economics), a company should change according to the needs and wants of the customer. If a company stays rigid it will probably see the end of the road far earlier than it is supposed to. Saturn's customers drove it to where it is more than the managers who just listened to what the customers had to say. Good point. Saturn has gone through a transformation. Good or bad only time will tell for the long term. As far as the short term results are concerned they are certainly getting some. Sky, Outlook and Aura are pulling more crowd in a year than the L series might have in its entire life span. Moreover, if the customer service and the brand value are the same, what if the company changes? Changes are always good.

Car and Drivers 5 Best Trucks...
I cannot stand the CRAP-4. It is much like a brother of Stitch with some steroids. Lot of girls here are seen here driving these. To me it is a POS.

May be you need to move your bachelor's party there. Better to have a Camaro orgy than oggling around a 2-cent stripper. Congrats man.

Thoughts of fancy - car salesman
Yes. Fly: I think it is a decent place to start. I do not think you will get slaughtered in negotiation by an A**hole as it has no haggle buying. Yet if you want to be a hardened person, it is not a place to start.

2008 Cadillac CTS: Image Gallery
I was talking to my gf who is about to graduate from med school and she is considering buying a car around 40k. She thought of 3 cars in that field. 1. 2007 BMW 335i with sport package and premium package 2. 2007 Infiniti G35 with luxury and navigation package 3. 2008 Caddy CTS with sport and luxury package (after it comes out) She is looking for following. 1. Gotta be a stick 2. Fun to drive yet comfortable 3. Should have a presence (a girl thinking can't help it there) 4. Should be reasonable (Meaning no roadsters or coupes) 5. Should be dependable. She really likes the G35 looks. Based on these I told her to wait for the CTS before she gives a shot at the other two. She has not test driven any of them. So we have some testing in our hands. Personally I do not like the BMW. It may be a great car, but there are just too many. But given a choice between the three I will go for the CTS. For 1. I enjoy how the older gen CTS handles. I can only imagine that it will get better. I was car-sitting one of my friend's CTS-V (One with the 5.7 V8) and man that thing was an animal. I know it is not a comparison with the new 3.6 DI, but it is the capability of the chasis. If the chasis can handle 400 hp, it can easily handle 300 hp car. 2. Infiniti's engine sounds like a neutered 6. 3. More yuppy crowds drive the beemer. 4. And CTS is a

2008 SATURN ASTRA PREVIEW
I genuinely think, GM should introduce a manumatic along with the european spec engines and a diesel in the Astra. It will not only be a cat among the pegions, but also will prevent from being "also-ran". VW Rabbit offers manumatic, and given how Saturn is perceiving itself as a Euro Brand, it is very justifiable to not to dilute it thinking "Americans will not like/buy this crap". That is the mentality which hurt small cars from big three in the past.

Volkswagen AG to acquire 51% stake in Proton
I honestly think it was good that the GM guys did not get it. I think GM needs to focus on its own. 2006 has been a good year, but it can be better. With concentration on its core brands, and planning their expansion and profitability will help GM in the long run, rather than getting another cash starved automaker and making gold out of it.
