Wow, this is aweful. Reg, my family and I send you our best right now. There's nothing that can be said to counsel. I hope you have good people around you who will listen to you during as you grieve. God speed.
  2. From the department of "I'll believe it when I see it in the showroom." Although it does sound pretty great to have a next gen Impala that is both rear wheel drive and world class competitively.
  3. My question. Since Henderson is coming in, will be be the puppet and Obama the puppet master in an automotive puppet regime?

Happy Birthday DF! May your year be full of various SRT badged vehicles.
  5. That thing is beautiful. Whatever it comes to the U.S. as, I hope a version of this model comes along for the ride as well.

There's times when I hate having a photographic memory. This is one of them.

That is for Arbor Day Camino. For Arbor Day 2008, my kids planted some red oaks on the property. They sure were beautiful this fall. Now lets all sing Koombaya.

My first post was meant tongue in cheek. I have made improvements to my home such as geothermal heat and a windmill that has reduced my dependence on the local power provider tremendously. I also did not drive my car at all during Earth Hour, so that saved fossil fuels, and exhaust emissions from being shed into the atmosphere. I think that counts for something.

My parenting style is a bit different. I prefer the KGB parent style over the Nazi parenting style.

Since its Earth Hour, I've unplugged my laptop and am running off the battery. I hope it lasts an hour.

Take it with the tongue in cheek nature that it was intended. I'm finally getting a sense of humor back after a good 9 months of its absence and figured I would express it a bit.

. . . . . or you are an active parent keeping an eye on your teenage daughter's activity on the social networking site.

Camino, if you owned a GM Performance store, there wouldn't be an unmolested performance exhaust in sight.
  14. You say sedan. . I say saloon. You say coop. . I say coupe You say wagon. . I say estate Lets call the whole thing off.
  15. This story made me smile. Congratulations to Buick and Jaguar! I hope that Buick can maintain this with the intro of the LaCrosse, and I normally don't wish anyone any ill will, but I wish Toyota/Lexus to continue their slide into automotive oblivion.

I get my gas at Taco Bell. . oh wait, wrong kind of gas. There's a kid at the petrol station I go to that was always droolin over the Corvette. He was disappointed when I told him it was gone. He is not that impressed with the Acadia or the G8 at all. He has a very nice Colorado Z-71 Extended Cab with a 5-speed. He takes really good care of it and put some really nice wheels on it.
  17. I agree as well. I think expanding the G8 out with wagon, and eventually a coupe once things turn around (I know this will never happen). The Solstice has already been expanding into a targa coupe, but I think a shooting brake type Solstice targa would fix some issues with storage.
  18. The economic situation is bad, and pulling out of these areas is the smart thing to do right now. There is nothing say that Cadillac cannot re-enter this market. The markets are all cyclical, and calling them a failure is short sighted. There are great products out there with a wreath and crest on them. The STS is worlds better than its predecessor, even if it has not set the luxury car market on fire. The CTS is world class. The Escalade has done worlds for the brand, but that's here in America, where the needs are different than in Europe. In Europe, Cadillac needs some world class small cars under the CTS before it heads upmarket. In my opinion, the best way to enter a market is at the low end and work your way up. There are other brands in the global marketplace that have proved this: Hyundai and Toyota --->Lexus (I hate them, but they have experienced success). I am hoping the Alpha Cadillac makes it to market and is a huge success both here in the NA market and in the EU as well.
  19. That damn thing drips sex CD! In a word . . gorgeous!
  20. Perhaps you should have named him Arkus the Great for his disappearing acts.
  21. This post made me LOL all over the place! Thanks Northstar.
  22. I agree, too. :AH-HA_wink:

Satty, you dont, by chance, work for a government agency do you?
  24. I see your point with the limiting of choices in body styles, and I understand where you are coming from since your hey day was back when cars in every category were offered in several body styles ranging from coupe, sedan, wagon, convertible. Unfortunately for you and those who agree with you, times have changed. That being said, had a wagon version of the car I recently bought been available, as it is in other markets, I would have chosen that body style because of the increased functionality, and the increased exclusivity of a high performance wagon. But, with the automotive market the way it is, I am just happy with the availability of a sedan with world class performance at a great price. In lean times, performance models tend to go away in many manufacturers portfolios, and I am happy with what's available. I guess I figure I have no control over what models are available because I am fortunate enough not to work in the auto industry. Thank God for that. Life is good.
  25. G3 - when I see one, I think "Why did they bother?" G6 - too many Epsilon cooks in the kitchen H2 - too big, too heavy, too thirsty for this day and age Aveo - smaller car that gets worse mileage than a Cobalt. Again, why bother? Outlook - too many Lambda cooks in the kitchen
