Thought Provoking
The youth culture was brought up, that is a HUGE part of the problem also. When kids play Grand Theft Auto and kill people at random on the video games and live in a culture of violence... Chris

Your ideal plane crash
I would agree. LiLO might pull it together but GW is God's own original Dumbass. Chris

I've had enough
Would be nice if MFG. had more control of dealers. Most of my local GM dealers are not people I'd buy a car from. You have my sympathy. Chris

Challenger Unmasked
It's a case of hemmeroids I wouldn't mind having. Or, given that it's a MOPAR, shouldn't it be Hemi-roids? Chris

Buick Model "B"
Just read an article in Automobile Quarterly about buick buying a model "C" which was the 4th oldest known buick in the world at the time. The article stated that the sloan foundation had made a model "B" out of a model C but that the model B was extinct as far as anyone knew at the time. I think the article came out about 1994 or so. Does anyone here know if anyone ever found a model B buick from 1904? Also, does anyone here have any good mlinks to info on Buicks of the brass era? Chris

Oldsmoboi drives a Mini-Cooper in Pittsburgh
Ditto on the manual in an S thing. I can sympathize with what Carbiz says about 98% of the population wanting automatics, but I wouldn't even want a CTS in an automatic. Chris

I could think of several creative uses for the Nuke though.... Chris

Thought Provoking
The counter arguement could be made also. There are a jillion people bearing arms in Packistan and Afghanistan, crime is obscenely common, and more guns won't change things. But I believe in the right to bear arms and like sixty eight said, from my cold dead hands. Chris

What are the "Gay Cars" in your city?
Let's see, I'm strait and a huge fan of Both Miata's and Mini's, and I don't know of any gay people that drive either. I like poetry also, though so my opinion may not count. Around here in the Lamda car club it seems to be big old domestics with lots of Chrome from the 50's or 60's. Newer cars seem to be all domestic, usually PT Cruiser or HHR for lesbians and large Buick/Cadillac type vehicles for males. For whatever reason the gay population of Columbus Ohio seems to be really, really domestic loyal. Actually, now that JPgolden got rid of the civic SI and got a truck, I don't know of any gay males that drive imports. Oh, yeah, wait, golden's partner drives a subie. Chris

Saw something
I had a good friend who was a railroad engeneer who hit a woman in a volkswagen with a frieght train and killed her at a crossing. Not his fault but twenty years later he still had nightmares. I still have a problem with car fires because I saw a Formula Ford burn During an SCCA race, although the driver did make it out... Chris

If you could lease a "newer" Impala for $199, would you?
Personally I hate leases, but I think this is a brilliant idea. With the economy in the crapper, lot of people will be looking for cheap wheels. Someone at Gm needs to look into this. Chris

Should GM build the next Cobalt around a 3-Cylinder?
Personally even if it did work out from a fuel economy standard, it would be a pr disaster. Better to upgrade/update the AVEO and use it there. Chris

Camaro/Challenger together on the road?
Actually, I'd like to see them swaping some damned paint in an SCCA style race.... Chris

Toyota caught out cheating with their new Lexus IS-F racer
They are winning the Rhetoric race quite well, thank you! Oh, wait, you wanted something that actually involved automobiles. Guess your S.O.L. Chris

Toyota caught out cheating with their new Lexus IS-F racer
Actually I have much more respect for Honda, Mercedes, BMW, et. al when it comes to foreign carmakers in racing. ...as well as Mazda, who manages to put thousands of race cars on track (formula Mazda, Spec Miata, MX-5 Cup, RX-7,and others) each weekend. Go to an SCCA race some time. The no show of Toyota products will delight and amaze you...oh wait, maybe that's NASCAR also... Chris

'08 Charger Rental
Actually I think the Charger is a Hot, Hot automobile-there are six vehicles at lest that Chrysler has gotten dead right-Challenger, Charger, 300, Wrangler, Ram, and Viper.

And it turns out that the Japanese isn't doing that great this year, it seems...
Depenmds on the Japanese car. Like someone said the high end stuff is in the tank but the Mazda 3, the Civic, The Fit, et al seem to be selling briskly. Chris

And it turns out that the Japanese isn't doing that great this year, it seems...
Actually I don't watch much television, but every time that I go over to see my father we usually sit down to watch Football or Basketball. At least on North Carolina TV, the G6 is advertised about every third TV spot. Chris

Chrysler working on emergency overhaul of Avenger & Sebring interiors
Actually, I hate to eat crow to Ravenfreak and Dodgefan but... Next door neighbors brother just bought a brand new white Avenger. Thjey had it out in the driveway this A.M. There does seem to be a real effort to improve assembly line build quality in these cars. I was rather impressed...does anyone have any actual information that is not heresay about any actual in-plant changes that Chryselr seems to be making? There may be hope for Chrysler yet if they keep this up. Chris

Interesting Cadillac discussion on Miatanet
Sorry I can't get the link to work but it is under "car talk" at Miatanet. 40 people in a poll say that they would now consider buying cadillac again with the new product lineup, Vs. 19 that say that they will never buy domestic again. Things seem to be working well for GM for a change! Chris

If you can drive at all amazing things can be done with an RWD car and decent tires. Chris
