What is coming next in the auto performance world is anyones guess. The Big boats of the 50's were replaced with the full sized muscle of the early sixties followed by the smaller muscle cars and pony cars, which were followed by the mullet generation Camaro's and Mustangs, which were followed by the Japanese tuner cars...the only constant we have is change. Supply of petroleum and energy will kill off the factory V8 muscle car if the government does not. The best thing is to enjoy and preserve the older v8 cars and to develop new, more fuel efficient muscle cars. That Camaro you describe may very well be the 2019 version... Chris
  3. I'd like to buy a used set of alloy wheels for my Safari van, which has a slightly different bolt pattern from the full size chevrolet van. Does anyone here know if S-10 wheels will cross over directly? Chris
  4. ...exactly. The HHR is still miles ahead of the Caliber SRT-4.
  5. The interior is a big step up, but I'm still blind as to why these things are popular. For the money, there are so many better cars. Chris
  6. ....but I see a very real downside to Camry sales as a result of this thing. It really does deserve the positive press it is getting. Chris
  7. White is one of my fav. colors for a car and also one of the hardest colors for a car to look good in. Your right, I've seen the Malibu in white and I think it looks fabulous. Chris
  8. I disagree. To me I would reject the Altima on looks alone... Chris
  9. This would be fair and a great idea. Chris
  10. My faith in humans to learn anything from their mistakes iat an all time low... Chris
  11. Even 4 cyl performance cars with small bore such as the Miata and the Cooper S won't meet 35 mpg. Chris
  12. Amazing the level of stupidity of the human race.... Chris
  13. Some days I wonder how much we'd help the automotive gene pool if we just lined up every single person who worked for Nissan and shot them. Yet to see many Nissan products that I am that impressed with...esp. from a styling standpoint. Chris
  14. Ditto on the Compatriot triplits, Matrix and Element. Esp. the Compatriot.... Chris
  15. Thanks for your comments. Chris
  16. Happy birthday! Chris

....I need to find an illicit career so I can afford one. Chris
  18. The Altima has become a truely ugly car. It is as if Goering is still around and needed a Nazi staff car. I actually want to see the Altima gone more than the Camry. Chris
  19. IIRC this is also why MRGr's crush pre-production cars when they are donw with them. Most Japanese and German cars have also had minor glitches until they have been on the market for a little while. Hopefully the new Malibu will continue to buidl momentum for GM. Chris
  20. The sad thing is that we are losing the "young" more than anybody. Guy down the street has a pristine 70 SS396 Chevelle that is a 40,000 mile creampuff that would make you cry. He owns multiple Monte Carlo SS cars from the 80's, and Impala SS and a few Mustang GT's for balance. However... Son in the family is 17-18 and won't have anything to do with American cars, only messes with Honda's. When the sons friends come over they have E-Clipses, Civics, Toyota MR2's, etc, but none of his friends want to play with American cars at all. I would like to see Son's POS Accord go against Daddy's SS396 on the dragstrip though...junior might have a "conversion" experience. Chris
  21. Beating the Solera is like fishing with dynamite.... Chris
  22. Actually this is much more reasonable and one reason I like C@D Better than MT. That being said, the Nissan may really be the one that belongs in last place... Chris
  23. Thanks Batman, I might try some in the Safari... Chris
  24. ...agreed on the conservative thing.... Chris
  25. ...agree with Camino also on the HHR interior comment. Chris
