  1. Magnum would have been another nice choice. They had an SRT-8 version at a local car lot and I had to remind myself several times that college is coming up for my son.... Too bad the LH cars like my old Concorde or your Intrepid are becoming a little older/harder to find. That would have been a great choice also. BTW, congrats on the MAXX. Maybe by the time the Neon needs replaced Chrylser will have re-introduced it and you can own both a mopar and a GM. Chris
  2. Agreed, bulletproof. Plus as a guy who likes quirky offbeat cars I can definitely say the MAXX has a lot of very uniqe style. Were it not for the lack of an MT I would own one myself. Chris
  3. Thankfully GM isn't trying to be everything to every one. For one, I am glad that Buick isn't trying to build cars like the early 80's Centuries just to have an "economy" midsized car to sell. GM is learning, there is hope. Plus the 3 models buick does have are all top notch... Chris

  5. Although regulations have given us modern engene management systems that have given us cars like the C-6 Z06. We live in an era when we have the best of both worlds, might as well enjoy it for as long as we can. Sadly, in 15 years CAFE will have killed even 4 cyl. performance cars like the Sky, Solstice, Miata, Civic SI, GTI etc. The Muscle car era cars will all be in museums, and no onw will remember other cool cars like the faux wood paneled station wagons of the 60's-70's. Or the two toned and thee toned chromed wonders of the fifties. Makes me sad... Chris
  6. Actually I like the new Mustang (go figure) but yeah the new Camaro is the "A" ticket. But then that should come as no suprise. The camaro owned the Mustang and the Challenger in 1971, it might as well own both in 2008. Now if it were a 70 Mach 1 or a 70 Boss 302 it might be a different story... Chris
  7. Which is why I really hope that there can be an improvement/change in the product lineup. I get discouraged easily, but am hopeful that there are good things coming from Chrysler. Chris
  8. One of the things that makes me really sad is that there is a wonderful family owned Chrysler store near me that I would love to do buisiness with...if the product lineup were different. Chris
  9. Ditto on the LX cars thing here. Were Chrysler still building cars like the first/second gen Neon, the LX series, etc. I'd be looking at one. Chris

  13. Exactly why I'm not buying another Toyota product-not so much that they are an asian company as the current product lineup is really bland. And your right, no one with any sense whatsoever should be buying these things. Chris
  14. The Tundra is not the total POS that some people make it out to be, but the point is that GM and Ford still build better trucks than Toyota and Nissan. Chris
  15. Turbo Trans Am pace car we can agree on 100%. Having owned a non-SS-454 70 Chevelle, I can agree on the LS-6 also. Although my dream garage would be: Fun car-Cooper S Old Cars-70 Mach 1, 34 Ford 3 window Street Rod Daily-Me-keep driving my Scion, soon to be paid off Kim, my wife-Cobalt SS TC Elizabeth, my daughter-Colorado Crew Cab 2WD Joel, my oldest son-What else, newer bodystyle Mustang GT.   17. Actually back in the day...I remember first gen (70-74) Challengers cruising around with plywood and astro-turf inside them. Which along with an 8 track and some groovy bell bottoms might make for a "period appropriate" modifications. Now where were those Bias ply 50 series tires on those rusty crager SS Mag wheels...methinks I need to go back out to the garage... Chris

  19. Exactly. While I may seem negative hre in my posts, really I think I'm just a frustrated Idealist or frustrated optomist. I would really like to see Chryselr get back on its feet, it just ain't gonna happen with the current product lineup though. Chris
  20. Actually I like it. Also, I've pulled 413's out of Chrysler vehicles in Salvage yards (one was an old Indian State Highway Patrol car, so I guess you could say it was "special service") But they definitely were there from the factory. Chris
  21. Given what we've seen out of Chrysler the last few years, do you really think it will possibly be any better???? Chris
  22. I've owned three Chryselrs (first gen Minivan, an Omni 0-24 Coupe back in the 80's and a nice FWD Concorde). Chrysler really was on the right track before Daimler bought them. Now they seem to build silly slab sided vehicles with terrible gas mileage and terrible interiors that no one seems to want. My in laws just adore the T&C and Caravan (previous gen) that they currently own, but don't seem to like the new generation at all. Here's hoping that they change. Chrysler has built some great vehicles over the years but the current lineup is a national embarassment. Chris
  23. ...the best hope for a rise in Magnum values in about 8-10 years is the general rise in scrap prices. right now an Escort or Cadaver (Cavalier) is worth about $250 in scrap. A Magnum should be worth $400 right now easy. Adjust for inflation and your all set. Chris
