Playing around with my new camera
Nope, haven't taken any courses... may be worth it in the future but I'm going to try to acquaint myself with the whole thing before I dive in.

Playing around with my new camera
So I finally treated myself to a proper camera (Rebel 550D/T2i) and I've been just taking some random shots around town... figured I'd share a few of them here. ...and of course a few mildly edited shots of my car.

Buick Regal interior impression
My main gripes about the Regal interior are that the steering wheel feels really awkward to hold and the interior in black doesn't have enough contrasting materials to really pop in my mind... That being said the Quality is AWESOME... I can't argue with that.

Discordant Driveways
My aunt and uncle drive a Fusion Sport and a F350 Crew Cab respectively... Yesterday I saw an expensive house in an expensive neighborhood with a 2003-05 W-Body Impala and a BMW Z4 in the driveway.

STARlinerS & rallye STRIPES FOREVER!
1964 CdV in that ubiquitous Cadillac Silver-Gold-Green color, the name of which escapes me. Also since today is Canada Day- it's also the Maple Leaf Forever.

A SWARM OF JUNE BUGS (and Crickets, and Spyders, et al)
My uncle just factory ordered up a brand new '11 F-350 4x4 King Ranch Crew Cab Diesel with every single option (Red/Tan two tone exterior), MSRP of 79'000$ CAD. This is just a year after my aunt ordered and received a new Red with Red and Black leather 2010 Fusion Sport 3.5L AWD with all the options but NAV.

Interactive Review - 2010 Chevrolet Malibu LTZ
They added the MyLink package with USB stereo for the 2010 Model Year. As for the display, I have the same AM/FM/XM setup in my Impala and it's actually very intuitive for a non-NAV head unit- more than I can say for the units from Honda.

Interactive Review - 2010 Chevrolet Malibu LTZ
^This would be my #1 complaint about our Malibu Maxx. The chassis is just not good for ruts or NVH. Seems to crash really loudly and harshly over bumps (obviously more harsh than an Impala but surprisingly the Cobalt also handles ruts with more aplomb). Same with engine vibration- it can be felt thru the floor esp at mid-higher RPMs and speeds in excess of 70kph. I'd like to know if this is the case for this generation of Malibu as well.

You need a car and have 16K on hand. What do you get?
16K in my pocket and any car I could choose- hmm. There really is only one. I'd pocket the change and take a nice vacation.

Days After Getting The Cobalt Back From The Shop
I'd be checking the rear frame for some damage by the looks of that, so sorry to see that happen so soon.

Why can't GM advertise like this?
I don't think It's just you... I've got a great big Canadian Red Ensign pinned to the wall above my desk.

All gone :(
I don't feel that much nostalgia for the car I was driving daily when this picture was taken (1997 Dahlia Blue Cavalier sedan). The cars that your family had as a kid are always the ones that you remember. I've been mulling a project car in the next few years and surprising close to the top of my list is a 1994-5 3800 Dustbuster like we had when I was little.

Bye Bye Aztek, it's been fun......my new ride is.....
It's not the insert, it's the whole bumper. The insert looks like it's not one piece but rather tacked on but in reality it's all one piece. The sedan taillights are the same.

AZ DMV Question
Been meaning to ask this question for a while- wondering if anybody could provide me with some insight. With the real estate market in the crapper and some pretty cherry foreclosure deals to be had, my folks have finally started seriously thinking about buying a place in greater Phoenix. This would be basically a vacation home sort of aim (Condo + Garage most likely) of course there are other things to deal with in setting something like that up. My dad wanted me to see if I could find out what vehicle registration laws are like in Arizona which would be determinant on whether we bring a vehicle down or buy one there to put in the garage. Obvious preference would be to buy a <10 year old car here and drive it down there. This brings up a couple questions about how cars are registered in AZ. Off the top of anyone's head, is it possible to keep the car and use it in Arizona while it remains registered in Alberta? In the past, and last Christmas I saw lots of cars with Alberta plates (incl. a Cobalt coupe from the same dealer we buy our cars from) that were so obviously driven by snowbirds and not driven back and forth between Arizona and Canada- Bringing a car in from Canada and registering it in Arizona assuming the car is under 15 years old just opens up a can of worms and red tape so we would like to avoid this. If not is it possible for a non-resident to register a car in Arizona and what costs would be associated with registration? Here it's just 70$/year for registration. Any insight would be appreciated!
