2013 Malibu - Launch Summary
I'm not so sure the bread and butter model will get 35mpg?? The wording where I've read it is vague.. Like there is going to be an Eco model that will get 35mpg.

Chevrolet Debuts the New Malibu
It looks decent but like others I think they could have changed up some elements more. The grille, pretty much all of the front end is all too familiar. I guess continuity and conservative won out there. I'll qualify that by saying I'm not a fan of Chevy front ends in general.

HYUNDAI SONATA!!!!
I'm not really drawn to any of the cars in the heart of the midsize class, but along with the Optima I guess its specs and styling are a cut above the rest still.

Overrated rock n' roll songs
Hopefully they get that braniac Avril Lavigne in on it as well

Overrated rock n' roll songs
True, when everyone was ragging on that 13 year old Rebecca Black this week, I was wondering what the big deal was, she's no worse than Nickelback and they're adults.

Contingency plans
I try not to think of these things because it just leads to temptation. Hopefully don't need to make this decision before the ATS is available A4 Quattro Passat CC GTI or Golf TDI Countryman

The Japanese
I was hoping to use a few weeks of vacation time to go to Japan later this year to experience it first hand but with what has happened it feels highly inappropriate now.

8.9-magnitude quake triggers devastating Japan tsunami
True, but you need money to afford buildings that aren't shacks. Haiti had plenty of building codes but no one followed them because the country is desperately poor. True and it was weaker at 7.0 I wonder how the building standards in California compare to those of Japan.

8.9-magnitude quake triggers devastating Japan tsunami
I think their building standards saved millions. Had 8.9 hit a modern city that wasn't built to deal with being on the ring, it would be ugly.

Small change to the Politics section
I think the sheer number of forum sections may overwhelm new users and lurkers who are not using tools like view new posts or don't want to post a thread in a section that hasn't had one in a month or more. IMO you could get by with one flat section for other makes and consolidate a slew of others. I have no interest in reading or posting on politics.. Things are so polarized now it's ridiculous. The news link posts are only interesting if whomever posts them gives their opinion to stimulate discussion which doesn't get lost in too much of the article being pasted. Just some thoughts

8.9-magnitude quake triggers devastating Japan tsunami
It's heartbreaking to watch/hear about everything happening there, I hope the nuclear plant issues don't escalate into something horrific.

With tires that low profile it needs less wheel gap but it's still early going.

What do you guys think part trois
There is always leasing a Volt for $350 a month

Tire Brands - which of these would you prefer/trust? (poll)
A few months back on the radio news I heard tire pricing was going to be going up do to raw material costs but wasn't really paying attention to the timeline or to what degree. My summer tires are costing my $660 and if I'm lucky I'll get 3 summers out of them.

David Arquette crash
um, she has never looked HOTTER. Hopefully surgery, botox etc is kept at a minimum and she doesn't look like the joker in 15 years.

momentary diversion
The Kizashi is a very nice car, definitely nicer than a Cruze (I would also take over a Malibu) but then again it wasn't meant to sell at Cruze prices. The SX4 is solid but underwhelming and I wouldn't purchase unless it was priced an Accent etc.

David Arquette crash
Enhanced or not, she looks pretty amazing at 46. She dumped him apparently because she was tired of raising two children (their infant and him).

Must have been a rental car, hope he choose the insurance option!

Geneva world premiere for Cruze hatchback
I was a little disappointed in the Focus hatch when I checked it out. It felt a little cramped from the driver's seat and I'm not a big guy.

Tire Brands - which of these would you prefer/trust? (poll)
Look into Continental Extreme Contact DWS tires as well. I was going to pick up a set for non-winter use but ended up ordering a set of summer tires today (Ventus V12 evo K110). I ran a set of TripleTreds about 5 years ago and they served me well. Not sure how they compare to newer tech tires as I've been stuck on OEM's and winters.

Chevrolet Cruze Gets A Diesel For 2013
I would be interested depending on the premium over the regular gas models. In Canada the Golf TDI is ~$2500 more than a similar equipped regular gas model.. I wouldn't pay much more of a premium than that just for 10mpg..

Finish the 2.5 years left in my mortgage this year. Exercise more. Resist temptation/Don't buy car/enjoy having no car payment.
