I don't know, but I'd leave it out in the rain too.
  2. ...and if the driver refuses, Onstar could do it.

Could be. If I were buying, the Challenger would still be at the top of my list.
  4. In fact, now that I think of it, this system would actually be safer for LEOs than any permanent tint because the officer can order the driver to kill the tint from the safety of the patrol car.
  5. Also, last time I checked police cars are equipped with a PA system. "Driver, clear your windows" I think that covers it.
  6. Umm, you'd be hard-pressed to see "who and how many" in the back of my 1995 Tahoe. Yeah, and that is factory "deep tinted" glass (GM terminology, not mine). I say why not do this - if the safety nazis scream, so what? That's free publicity. Worrying about crap like this before there is any regulation is just stupid.
  7. Following this one without comment, but with some interest.
  8. Pot, meet kettle.
  9. NHTSA has a mandate addiction. And the insurance industry is the pusher.
  10. Ugh. What's wrong with letting this technology evolve on its own, and find acceptance in the market (or not) on its own? I don't know how good Benz's electric braking is now, but it was flat-out lousy and scary at its debut.

All I can say at this point is that I'll never buy a new car I don't like.
  12. Careful - lots of these are modded... badly.
  13. Anyone else see very dark clouds on the horizon? Right over the bottomless pit? Centered in a wasteland? Just askin'.

    Happy Birthday, Lamar.
  15. Despite all of the showcar glitz, the basic design is quite appealing. +1 on the headlights not stretching back to the A-pillar - so very tired of that trend.
  16. I'm sure you're right, but I'll never understand that mentality. I'd much rather wait and get precisely what I want. This sure seems like an intentional limiting of production.
  17. Someone high up in GM must really hate Holden. I'd be fine waiting 90 days for a factory ordered car - but I'd want a significant option list to go with that wait. Yes BP, that manual would be at the top of my list. Whenever GM decides to bring a Holden here, some last-minute drama casts doubt on the idea - not a great way to do things.
