Shoot me now, just shoot me now. I WANT!!!!!

Why the new Camaro will fail
I'd go even farther, by saying that the design intent and the execution of both cars is so far apart that beyond the engine/trans, 2 doors, and RWD these cars have almost nothing in common.

----> B-pillar?
I had it right away too, not hard enough,68.

FLY or NO FLY
OK, so wind isn't the right term. No flow of air around the airfoil (wing), no lift, no flight, no exceptions.
-
FLY or NO FLY
As the question was phrased in the other thread: the plane cannot fly. No wind, no lift, no exceptions.

Rats
I feel your pain,Z. I've been that route more than once. People can be such jerks when they sell a car. OCN is right everyone, heed the word. I've had my eye on a C3 vert for a very long time now. Once the fleet has been sold off, it might be time to knock on a door again. :AH-HA_wink: The car has been outside under a tarp for close to 10 years now.

Why the new Camaro will fail
I understand the temptation to see the two cars in a similar light, but as an owner of both I have to tell you that they are dramatically different. So different, in fact, that it is hard to believe that they are products of the same corporation. The GTO has far more in common with a 3 series BMW in its quality and driving manners than it does with a Firebird. Even the performance of the LS1s in each car are dissimilar.

C&G survey
I can say with certainty that if I do buy a new Camaro that it will be the top performing v8 model. That's just what I do. I may not be the best bet however, since other Zeta/Zeta lite cars could potentially sway my purchase decision. Conversely,no v6 car stands a chance of darkening the doorway of my garage.

C&G survey
bout the way I would've guessed that you would see it. Who would you pick as the 1 V8 buyer?

NG GMT 360 Shelved
I wonder how a less-expensive,I-6 Tahoe would go over.

NG GMT 360 Shelved
Anyone actually know what the cost differential might be? This is an interesting idea, one worth exploring, even if it hijacks this thread. I would think that an economy of scale could be involved if this engine went to the 900s.

So, I think I'll put the jag on ebay
Not yet, might have plenty of time this week thanks to the #@^$&%# rain.

first compact truck
The pickup version was simply a matter of the top used (as Balthazar indicates) so it was "available" from the start. Buckets were available, if not at first, then soon afterward as most Scouts I've been in were bucket seat-equipped. There was also a primitive seat available which mounted in the bed area. So, passenger capacity would be 4-5 people.

2006 Carlisle All-GM nationals...
I'm so ticked! I was kept from going on Saturday by a meeting I couldn't avoid, and when I checked the weather for Sunday the forecast was so bad it made the trip not worth the effort. I wanted to catch this show so badly! Pics please.

Why the new Camaro will fail
First of all, many actual GTO transactions were in the range you indicate in your post (including mine). Second, the GTO was not in the same market as the T/A. Third, the GTO was worth every penny of the sticker price - it is that good. Fourth, the assumption that the car was a failure is simply false.

Sorry that I stole your thunder, 68.

Chevy Considering A Chevelle Or Monte Carlo?
As future GM RWD coupes in some form are a given, this is what I see happening in the first few years of them being offered. Pontiac gets a limited-volume, Holden-built GTO. Chevy gets both Camaro and MC/Chevelle built in NA. All three would differ significantly. Other "maybe" cars could follow: El Camino (Holden-built) A Buick convertible (Holden-built?) A Caddy Coupe (NA built) Add these to the Zeta/Zeta lite sedans and you have a great selection of RWD cars with very little overlap. If the market expands, which I believe is possible, zeta could spawn a great many other variants. Some could replace slow selling models and some could simply be additions. Sales of Zeta/Zeta lite worldwide could be staggering.

NG GMT 360 Shelved
With Equinox,Tahoe/Suburban,the Lambdas, and Avalanche the only room for another BOF SUV I can see is a smaller, simpler, less-expensive,yet very tough vehicle.

In case you haven't guessed, it's the SS for me.

I'm in love!
I've always liked that car,Mouse. F-body based, it looks much smaller in person.

I'm in love!
It's a one -off re-creation of the '54 Nomad showcar according to the description I read when I found the pic. Not for sale as far as I know. Notice the chrome ZR-1 style wheels: something tells me this car has other surprises to offer mechanically.

If the El Camino comes back, should it include...
Not for mine. :AH-HA_wink:
