  1. Need I state my position on this question?
  2. It completely depends on the vehicle and outside circumstances. I usually intend to keep everything I buy, but it doesn't always work out that way. I hate selling any of my cars/trucks. But, I am always looking for something else so something has to go. Vehicular needs and financial realities change all the time, so the "fleet" changes too. With unlimited funds, most of my vehicles would never see another owner while I'm drawing breath. :AH-HA_wink:
  3. I recently saw an example of one of the worst colors ever: early Neon "M&M" purple (you know, the color that peeled off of most of the cars it was sprayed on). Damn, but that is an ugly sight. I had taken the Hawk out for a little cruise and stopped for gas when I hear a horn being honked. I looked up to see a couple of young guys giving me the thumbs up for the hawk and they were riding in one of these little purple beasts. Otherwise: Tan,gold,champagne... White Light blue or green metallic Yellow just about any purple: metallic or solid most light solid colors (M&M)

BTW: "Malibu" was just a trim package until '78, the car in question is a Chevelle.

Just the kind of proportions I like in a car.
  6. No cable here. What did I miss?
  7. Sorry, just found this post (been offline a few days). I'd confirm the 15-18 mpg numbers as about right. I love my '05 Duramax/Allison and highly endorse it. I dirve and work the truck hard and always stay above 10 mpg even when towing/hauling. Plowing drops it down a bit lower maybe and I have a very heavy foot most of the time. If driven conservatively, I would not be surprised to see much higher numbers. Haven't really done a long highway trip in the 20,000 miles I've put on it so far - low 20's wouldn't surprise me.
  8. Thanks! That might help.
  9. Something tells me you're not "just around the corner". Or I might just show-up. :AH-HA_wink:
  10. That's just sad.
  11. As Toyota grows, chinks in the armor are forming to be sure. But, nothing that would truly indicate a decline is coming anytime soon. This is not easy for me to say, mind you, as I hate Toyota more than any other car company worldwide. I don't hate them for what they have done to the domestics as much as what they have done to cars in general. Toyota has done more to turn cars into soulless appliances than any other manufacturer, and not only their own cars but those of the other manufacturers as well. As an automobile enthusiast, I could never in good conscience buy a Toyota. So, yes I wish Toyota all the bad luck possible, but I don't see any significant decline in its fortunes yet.
  12. Yup. Cast right into the front of the manifold near the thermostat housing.
  13. OK, now how many of you know where to find 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 on the car ?
  14. My Maserati - every time I go to start it. It sits for long periods of time, has a carb instead of fuel injection, and a manual choke(factory!) So, yeah, I talk to it quite alot. The trouble is, I don't speak Italian. "C'mon start you Italian piece of ****...C'mon baby ...C'mon She's kinda grumpy until she warms-up. My fault really, I don't drive the car enough.
  15. When I was a kid, I used to hang out at my Uncle's place (across the street from my parents). My Uncle had a friend who was a local cop and he used to stop by on his break all the time. Well, one day I'm over there hanging out with my Uncle and his buddy when all of the sudden they both get this evil look in their eyes and I start running. They caught me after a good chase and toss me in the back of the patrol car and the cop proceeds to drive me all around the neighborhood so everyone gets to see me stuck in the back of his car. It was all in good fun, but I sure got some funny looks from the neighbors.
  16. I would do that '70 project in a heartbeat.
  17. Ah well, I'm glad the rightful owner is getting it back. If someone stole a car like that from me they would be in a world of hurt when I caught them.
  18. BTW: I love the underdash FM converter in the '69, I haven't seen one of those in just about forever.
  19. Very cool pair of Mopars there,Dodge. The '69 is quite nicely optioned and the wheels look great on it. The '70 is, well, a '70. Cool no matter the options and drivetrain. Thanks for posting the pics, now clean all that crap of the 'Cuda. :AH-HA_wink: I'd love to see these cars fully restored and they both look pretty good to start with. Enjoy the project.
  20. Whaaa? Toss another frame under it!!; GM A-Bodies used near identical frames- there are millions to choose from across the country. 'Bad frame' should never mean 'scrap it'. True.
  21. Looks like I had better get that trailer inspected.
  22. Yes, please.
  23. The other day I saw a '48ish Dodge and a Lambo.
