DAMN!!
Damn. Ain't it always the way that the best of opportunities always arise when you haven't got the means to take advantage of them?

People need to slow down
ABS, AWD, Traction controll, and all these other drivers aids are no replacement for brains, and they cannot defy the laws of physics. You hit the brakes to fast or too hard on a slippery surface, you're not going to stop. You hit the gas too hard, your back end will try to drive out past your front end, or vice versa, and you will end up somewhere you don't want to be. I know this and I live someplace it doesn't even snow. Not only that, the three times that I have driven in snow or ice out of town, I was driving better than most of the locals.

I just curbed my car...
I curbed my Z before--Hard. Bent the passenger side front suspension out of whack, and had to get it replaced. I say just do what I did and let the Insurance company worry about part numbers. your insurance rate will jack up, yeah, but it may just be a little less painful.

98,000 Chevy Cobalt sedans Recalled
so this only applies to the sedans, as in just the four-door models, or does it affect the coupes as well?

On behalf of all the Cobalt-drivin' Sons of B's on this forum...thank you. Oh Man...I remember...The TWiNK. I also remember begging Ted to burn it, flush the ashes down the loo, and never speak of it again.

The official I HATE DONALD TRUMP thread.
I don't like: That dead fluffy animal carcass on his head that he tries to pass for hair. The way he thinks he can act on television, but its very obvious that he can't. The way his mouth moves when he speaks (See above) makes me wanna deck him right in the mouth. His grating, wheezy, irritating voice. The poster boy for everything wrong with corporate America How many times has he been married again? He's a phucking philanderer (see above. his new wife better keep some serious tabs on him) Did I mention that annoying way his mouth moves when he tries to act and speak at he same time? GAWD I wanna deck that bastard.

An Age Old Manual Question
actually, that little upsurge in revs doesn't take in any more gasoline than slowing down. in fact, after observing the fuel consumption meter in my cobalt, I notice that during the revs of a downshift, the gas mileage actually improves just the slightest bit.Anyway, this is an age old debate, and one that probably isn't going to get generally settled anytime soon. I was taught at first to neutralize when decelerating, but I have since learned by several other people, including a GM certified mechanic, that downshifting really is the way to go.
-
An Age Old Manual Question
2Quoted for truth.neutral puts just as much wear on the clutch because it' would do just as much wear/damage as riding it all the way to a stop. I usually downshift all the way to a stop, and then only put it into neutral after I've stopped so that I don't have to hold the clutch in through the red light. The Camaro's clutch has only needed to be replaced once, and it was way past-schedule, even after all the dragging and burnouts I've done in it, so that must say something for downshifting. EDIT: although I must say that it is getting to be about time to replace it again. (It's going to be ten years old this year!)

2008 Dodge Avenger
Turbojett replied to Intrepidation's post in a topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)YOU CAN'T TALK TO ME LIKE THAT! I WORK TOO HARD! I AM A DISTRICT MANAGER IN CHARGE OF 49 PEOPLE! THEY ARE SCARED OF ME! I DRIVE A DODGE AVENGER!!!!!!! eh...naaaaaaaah. I said it before, I'll say it again. it's a butterface. the nose styling is absolutely horrible. It looks as if it was trying to capitalize off of the Caliber's Mini-Mag looks, by making the Avenger a Mini-Charger. if not for the hideous headlight/grille treatment, I'd say they succeeded, however that one little area of the design is a big make-or-break part of the car; it's face if you will. And I like everything, butterface.

FIRST LOOK: 2008 Chevrolet Malibu
but they still look like a Passat. I'd have been happier if they'd have kept design continuity a little better and productionized the SS concept's rear onto this car. NOS's chop makes it look worlds better.

2010 Impala Renderings
Oh yeah, and that rendering? My 13 year old brother could do a better job.
-
2010 Impala Renderings
well their '79 Corvette rendering was almost spot-on, but I guess after that they got a big head and started thinking that they were infallable. Their '04 (nee '05) rendering, they said was "spot no, but the design was changed at the last minute" BS. If the design changed, we'd still be stuck with the C5.

Olds name comes down. LSJ
